@fjord384 Do you ppf and ceramic coat those or it's not needed since they're covers?

So these are actual replacement housings. I would recommend a ppf and ceramic on these.

I re-installed my Numeric pedals. I'm pleased with them. Note that they are large and made of metal, not rubber like the diminutive stock units. So, appropriate footwear is a safety consideration.

I also adjusted my shifter cables to balance the free play between Front/Rear and Left/Right. The cable tweaks cured a not-quite-right feeling in the shifter. It's an easy job to do, with a real potential benefit, and requires only a trim tool.

I installed the Numeric pedals last year. You are absolutely correct in that there is no comparison between them and the lightweight, barely adequate factory versions. (Your 'diminutive' adjective is perfect.)

Could you describe the cable adjustment process a little bit? In another car, my VW R32, I would lock both the shift tower on the transmission and then the shifter into a fixed neutral position then adjust the cables to have the closest to zero tension. How does the Cayman compare? I have not yet seen a way to lock either the shift tower or shifter, maybe the spring tension is enough.

First, don't overthink or try to visualize it all before starting, because it's a job that you come to understand as you do it, and you will realize it is simple, really.

Porsche makes a jig to center the shift lever fore/aft, in the official position. It's unnecessary, as you will see. You can pick your own preferred tweaks. As for left/right centering of the shift lever, yes, the spring does that.

All you're doing here is popping each cable end out of its connector, finding the middle ground of free play in the cable, and then popping it back into the connector. You can test/adjust how it all feels before snapping the console back together.

If you're a worrier like me, you mark the starting positions as I did with a red pen (barely discernible in photo of right-side cable end).

I appreciate J-Dub's question and thanks for giving folks on here more info, because I know there are likely many members who view this change with trepidation since what is " Simple " for one person, is difficult for another ( I would be one of those anothers ). As you noted, you are a worrier, and there are plenty of us like you, so in this case more info just helps one decide if they want to tackle a job or take to an expert. Thanks for the extra detail, it will help others wanting to accomplish this task, imho.
