I have owned several Porsches over the past 50 years. Currently own a low mileage 81 SC Targa . I am the second owner and had the car since 1986. The car is a weekend driver ( summer and fall ) and is immaculate all original. PCA member for over 35 years.

50 years of Porsche ownership - that's loyalty - congrats and thank you!
Since you're also a 35-year PCA member, I have another Carpokes link I'll throw out there to further load you up.

That would be our Regions sub-forum specifically for individual PCA clubs where we're trying to establish an alternative for PCA members to communicate in a more friendly, discussion-based forum. So, if you'd like your region added, please let us know and then post away!

One more thing, welcome to Carpokes!

Welcome to Carpokes. If you feel inclined, please post some photos of your 81 Targa. An immaculate and original 1981 car is certainly something to be very proud of! Thanks for joining.
Best,
Larry

Hi Vin. Great pic - sun and snow in the north with dry roads = a perfect day for a top-down cruise! Great car too - I luuuuv the green! It looks close to Porsche Racing Green Metallic, a short-list green for me.
Welcome to Carpokes and thanks for joining up and posting the pic! (Post as many as you want.

Green exterior and tan / cognac interior is a classic and timeless combination.

Thanks for joining and post more photos if you can. What is the name of your shade of green? ‘Love the ‘ lobster fork wheels.’
Best,
Larry

Hi Everyone,
My name is Chris and I split my residence between OC, SoCal and SWFL so will be nice getting to know both the FL and CA gang on here. I have always been a Porsche fan since I was a kid and still remember when the 959 was released. That was the “one” to have growing up in the late 80’s. Over the last 15 years, I have had several BMW’s, especially the M cars and finally ordered and took delivery of my first Porsche, which was almost like a magic trick to make happen with the challenging process of receiving an allocation; that alone felt like a huge accomplishment. Other than playing with cars, in my spare time I am an avid runner, snow skier and mountain biker. Looking forward to learning some new things about Porsche’s and cars in general on this forum and sharing some of what I know. -C
Welcome aboard Chris! I wonder what percent of Porsche owners have had BMWs in the past? I bet it's pretty high. I've had several and thought they were great, but the older the better.
Seems like a natural transition to go from BMW to Porsche. Have a first gen M2 and I really enjoy this car but no doubt the Porsche 718, at least with the 4.0l is a step above it both performance and build quality. With that said, the M2 is definitely no slouch.

Hello Carpokes,
My name is Steve and I live in Western Maryland. I have been a car guy all my life. Started out with Mustangs in the late 70's and got into Porsches about 20 years ago when I had enough money to buy one with the intention of auto crossing and some track driving. Fast forward and I have been racing with PCA for about 12 years, I am a chief instructor with Potomac, and currently working on building a 77 911S vintage race car. The current fun cars in the stable are:
1970 Mustang Boss 302 grabber blue
1986 Mustang SVO black
1977 911S vintage racer project not sure what color yet
1992 968 Cabriolet Tahoe blue 1of 5
1994 968 Coupe Iris Blue
1989 944 TurboS racecar
1998 993 C2S black with Aerokit II
My son is also a car nut and is a 3 time 944Cup/PCA SP2 champion and is currently competing in SpecBoxster in the Carebearrera,
Its great to be here and hope I can both contribute and learn.

Hello Carpokes,
My name is Stew and I live in East Tennessee. I’ve been an avid track junkie starting in the early 2000’s, although I’m relatively new to Porsche ownership. A few months ago I traded my ‘20 GT4 in on a ‘22 GT3. I am blown away by Porsche’s engineering and look forward to many more days on track. I look forward to learning and contributing on this forum, and thanks for creating/maintaining it!
