Hello all,
Just became a member of CarPokes! Nice to talk to like minded Porsche members.
I have had my 1968 911-L for about 17 years now. I bought it from a colleague I worked with as a Fireman. I always wanted a Porsche 911 since my high school days. My next door neighbor’s college age daughter drove a blue 911 and other year models too. I just thought they were the coolest cars. I told myself I would eventually buy a 911 built during that period of ‘65-‘69. I was finally able afford my friend’s 911-L for $4k! The paint and interior was shot, the front Pan was rusted but the drive train was in very good condition. When I retired I was able to fix it and give a new interior and paint. I love my 911-L and will never give it up.

Wow , so cool for a dream to come true. Please consider posting up some pictures of you L either here or on the appropriate model Sub Forum. Welcome and I can remember a lovely young lady whose Dad had a 911 in HS, and I don[t remember the exact model but I do remember it was a 68. I was her escort for the 69 Prom Queen celebration and we got to drive her Dad's car. He never found out she let me drive it and I don't remember how she did, but I do remember that Green Porsche, ha,ha!

Just a great story - the kind that brings a lot of smiles! (And possibly some fix-up challenges too...)
Welcome to Carpokes - glad you found the site and joined up!

Great to have you onboard! Welcome! I have a 992 Turbo S too, but mine is more of a weekly driver.
