JoeyD914 wrote: Sun Oct 08, 2023 10:21 am Hello all, Joey here a recent new member. Currently I only have a 996 cabrio to drive but have other projects. 3-914's, 944 & 356 basket case.
About have one 914 ready to go with a fresh 2056 weber carbs. Question is do I go ahead and install the AC system? Already have the compressor mounted to the motor but not sure of how well the system will work. Anyone out there running ac on a 914?
Hi Joey, welcome one new y to another.
With respect to your A/C for your 914, I believe that your big challenge is to find an evaporator system that fits into the car. I would consider contacting Jonny at Classic Retrofit. His company has developed a very nice electric A/C system for the 911 that includes a new air distribution box with intergraded evaporator. Jonny is quite industrious and may have a solution for you.
By the way, I’m currently installing a CR system. It is well thought out and of high quality.
Good luck.
Cheers.

I couldn't agree more on your 718 comments! Your car is awesome and looks quite at home in the sweet high seaside roads.

Browse around the site - there are a number of really cool threads that have been started here. Welcome to Carpokes!
