Anyone else surprised by Taycan driving experience?

Anyone else surprised by Taycan driving experience?
Candidly, I thought I would hate. I test drove a 4S as a due diligence exercise before buying a new car. Within a week I owned one.
It was massively reassuring to discover that driving in the future won’t be terrible. I’ve driven some hybrids and found they had nothing to offer me. Sure there’s the 918, but that’s a car most of us will never drive, much less own. I’ve driven Tesla and immediately concluded it wasn’t for me.
When I got to the dealership, I was expecting the lithium barge; the battery sled. But man, it felt like a Porsche. A good one.
If I’m on Carpokes, you know cars are in my DNA. I drive, I track, I’m a PCA Instructor, I race competitively, I wrench (albeit just basic maintenance and simple modifications). I’m not someone who was particularly excited for the automotive future. The Taycan changed that.
I still have an internal combustion engine Porsche in the garage as well. Fortunately there is room in my automotive life for both for now.

Was it a Model S that you drove? I drove a Model 3 recently and I have to admit the Model 3 was actually fun to drive. I didn’t care for the cockpit or the everything on the “iPad” dashboard, but the low enter of gravity, torque, and shorter wheelbase made the care a hoot to drive in the twisties…

No this was a model D with Ludicrous speed
I did drive a model 3 a few years ago with the single motor before they brought out the Dual motor out I didn’t push it too hard to be honest with you it was somebody else’s car…

I know absolutely nothing about the Taycan, but I do know that as soon as I'm finished with this round of College I'll be buying a well optioned Model 3! I'm crossing my fingers for a position at Space-X.

I have to say, the 9.23 second quarter mile for the Tesla Plaid is truly astounding. But I'm guessing the Taycan would still get around a track faster -- if the Plaid is anything like my neighbor's Tesla. Kind of like the early muscle car days where American cars dominated in a straight line...?

Months ago I was very close to pulling the trigger on a model 3 performance. Dealer let me take home over a weeknight. I loved the tech, but my wife… not so much. She was convinced I’d keep it on full autonomous and wreck it. She said ‘get the Porsche’, so who am I to argue?

Does appear that way. You can get a sense of the sheer weight of the car coming into the corner and around the corner.
