Dear Porsche 992 friends
I would like to know if there are more people who buy the extra warranty after the warranty is over and who goes for 1year/2year or more ?

I never buy it. I have owned a new 997.1, a 991.1, and the current 992.1. They are good to go with regular maintenance.
The insurance behind the warranties has big profit margins. I say buy the stock.

Extended warranties (Service and Parts Insurance) is an incredibly profitable option for both the dealership and the entity underwriting the policy. But I’m not sure that should be a major focus of one’s decision making process.
I would factor your fiscal position and the impact that a major service repair might have. If such an event might put the essentials and/or safety of you or your family at risk, then purchase the policy.
Another aspect would be your risk tolerance. This is entirely subjective. What sort of investments do you have? Are you exclusively invested in gold? Or at the other end of the spectrum, it’s all in penny stocks and Junk Bonds? If the former, maybe the policy would make you feel better, if the later I’d guess you’d prefer to put an insurance policy expense to other use.

It is definitely worth considering because then you know where you stand,it costs in the Nederlands about 1100 euro every year and that is quite a lot of money. The biggest problem is that if there is something it usually costs a lot of money.that's why i have taken out the insurance several times already but didn't need it and now i also drive a cayenne (febr.2020)and just outside the normal warranty (two years) the haedup display is broken.cost 3,500 euro.after a lot of talking this will be reimbursed by the importer and the dealer.that's why i am now considering taking this insurance for the 911.

I did four years for piece of mind. Well worth protecting the investment.

On another forum, there is a very extensive thread covering Fidelity Platinum extended warranties. From my nearly 3 years of reading up on extended warranties, the Fidelity Platinum plan is as good of an extended warranty as you can get for our P-cars. There are a few reputable dealers who will sell you these plans online at greatly discounted prices versus buying from a local dealer. I paid roughly $4200 for a 10 year / 100k miles extended warranty. The key factors behind getting such a low price was buying it BEFORE my original factory four year warranty lapsed AND having less than 10,000 miles on the car at the time of purchase. The price goes up significantly once you pass those two milestones. This warranty is transferable and can also be refunded (prorated).
I purchased mine from Troy Dietrich who can be reached through this website:

I don't want to promote the 'other' forum but if you google search the term "Fidelity Platinum Megathread" you'll find loads of useful information.
