Clear side marker lights

I'm thinking of ditching the orange side markers that came with my car (992) and installing the clear ones? Anyone know why Porsche uses orange in the US in the first place? Regulatory requirements? I know it's a common mod here in the US, but curious if it's fully legal and/or if insurance companies might use it to deny coverage, etc.? It's not technically an option available in the US when you order a car, right?

US regs require reflectorized orange front side marker and red rear side marker , as euro spec non-reflecting front marker w orange bulb only works with visibilty when lit , not when car is parked and shut off . ( color is not the issue ..it's having front and side reflectors to make parked car's length visible on an unlit road when approached from its side by oncoming car's headlights )

You are fine to do this. I had my dealer swap out for clear fronts when arrived. Suncoast has them readily available and depending on the color you chose for your 992, are a huge improvement.

One of the first changes I made. I replaced the orange with clear. Then again, I’m the sort that tears off mattress tags.

This has become an obsession in the 718 community. I will likely stay stock as I have always done, resist peer pressure on that one I think.

Changed out mine. It's also on both my 991.1 and 992. The clear look so much better and it is a pretty cheap mod.

I ordered them from Suncoast before the car arrived and had my dealer install before picking it up. They look great against Carmine Red.

I have change them out on every performance car I have owned. I order a set for my 992 before I took delivery of the car. can't imagine it makes any difference with the improvement in headlights on cars and street lights today. Plus I have never had an issue with getting pulled over or sight for not having yellow markers. I say go for it. It really dose cleans up the look of the car. Plus it is one of the easiest and quickest mods you can do. Almost certainly one of the cheapest also.

My dealer installed clear ones for free when I took delivery - 2 minute swap.

I installed clear lenses on my 911s and it looks fantastic. No problems with citations. I doubt if they even know the difference. Great look.
