I have a 2014 Cayman S. The speedometer and tachometer lights are out. The information display light is fine. Are there separate bulbs for each display and if so, how do you replace them?

Have you checked fuses? Seems weird multiple lights would burn out together (if they did)....

Checked the fuse and it is good (also the info display gauge on the right is illuminated). Does anyone know if there are individual bulbs for each gauge? Some YouTube videos of older models show an entire row of bulbs across the bottom of the cluster.

That aside, I believe you're looking for T5 B8.4D bulbs. I think that this light can be had as a B8.5, etc. It may be a function of intensity (or perhaps colour).

I have exactly the same model and year, and I was originally convinced that there was a fault with the lighting of those two dials. Even at 100% on the brightness setting I found them to be dim, partly because the third 'dial' with the information display is much brighter.

I had my car at the dealer earlier this year for another CPO warranty item, and I asked them to check this. The response was that there was no fault; this is the way these dials are. I found that a bit odd, but I did not pursue it further and to be honest I no longer think anything about it.

The 981 instrument cluster uses LED lights mounted to a PCB. I have a 981 S and have the same problem, the backlights are not on unless the headlights are on and even then, they are too dim. What was Porsche thinking, never mind that the gauge is white numerals against a light grey background ! So, I have a clone PIWIS computer interface and will look to see if the programming of the display computer can be changed to be always on. Regardless, because of the dimness of the lights when on, I bought a used instrument cluster to replace it. If it's not possible to have them on when the headlights aren't on, I'm going to retrofit some more leds next to the existing ones (spacing is tight) - I'll be using tiny LED's from a company that makes them for model trains and such.
