Gt4RS vs 718 spyder

I just want to post some observations I’ve had with the rs as compared to the spyder. First, I never would have thought 85 hp would be so noticeable. The spyder was harder to break the back end loose when moving so I was able to use the throttle almost like an on/off switch. Can’t do that on the rs. It’s like my old 1LE in that aggressive throttle inputs reward you with great slides at a detriment to speed. Both cars suffer from understeer with aggressive turn in and both can have a majority of that worked out with alignment. Both cars are loud but good lord, the rs is glorious. I have never had a car that I didn’t change the exhaust in until now. No need. Both cars suspension is fine for street use and track use in both settings. In fact, I prefer to drive the rs in the firm mode as there is slightly more rebound so I find it more comfortable. Spyder was manual so I can’t compare the transmissions but it is really nice to be able to get through a couple of gears in the rs before you get to go to jail speeds. fit and finish of both cars has been great. Both cars attract incredible amounts of attention. Im not sure what Porsche changed on the brake pads since 2020 but they sure do make a lot less noise. Dust is pretty bad on both. More observations to come.

Awesome pictures! Thank you for posting. Silly question, but did you add the yellow stripe on the steering wheel, or is that from the factory? I'd get
@Crazy Eddie bolster covers on those seats asap, but I'm biased (and barely fit in those buckets....).

@Mojonito
Fantastic!!! Thanks for the feedback and the great pics. Curious as to other things you notice as you put the RS through its paces. I am pretty much next on the allocation list, assuming any more are forthcoming this year to the dealer.
I concur on alignment changes. I am running -2.5 camber with toe at zero, square (all four corners) on my 718 GT4. Was only able to achieve those numbers using Tarett Engineering components in place of stock front & rear. Stock really puts the kibosh on anything beyond mild alignment specs. Does the stock 4RS allow for that kind of camber adjustment or will it need aftermarket components?

Tom, the stripe is part of the GT4 pkg and also that for the 4RS. I configured my GT4 stripe to red since I had also had red deviated stitching.

Ah, good to know -- must be a 718 thing? I don't 'think' the original 981 version had that?

Stripe is included on the gt cars with alcantra steering wheels. Bolsters are already on- thanks crazy Eddie!

Stock rs Will get you more camber than gt4, will get you to -2 easily with a little room for more. If you want much more you will need toe links and camber plates (or shims but I wouldn’t want those front wheels to stick out anymore than they do).

That's crazy. I have a trained eye looking for Ed's covers and still missed them.
