Hey guys!

Even though we are deeply in love with our babies, there’s always room for improvement! Right?

First thing that bothered me the most was the fact PCM5 has a small CarPlay screen, which occupies around 2/3 of the display or less!
Looking all over the forums I found a guy in New Zealand who did the trick! - and as far as I could see he’s the only one who can do it.

Took around 1h for him do it, everything remotely.

Here’s the result

2nd mod was to avoid cables running from the arm rest. Found this neat piece built with a MagSafe adapter! They also have one for Taycan and 992.

Two great mods. I wish they had the MagSafe mount for the Cayman. My car has a similar smokers pkg enclosure.

Update:

Nine-Volt now makes the MagSafe charger for the 718. I bought one and it works great!

Did you call them and confirm they just don't make it for the Cayman? Or still waiting to hear back?

Called and emailed them. Haven’t heard back. I did verify that the Macan and 718 have different part numbers for the smokers package.

I'm going to do the full screen car plan on the PCM.. just had to reinstall whatttttaappppppppppp to get it rolling with the supplier, thanks for posting info here!

Also a big fan of the Nine-Volt MagSafe Wireless charger/mount. Excellent quality solution for iPhone users.
Just got the three-piece fob case from AliExpress in Gloss Black to match our Macan.

Just an FYI that Android users can also make use of MagSafe charger mounts.

I have a hunch that one is 3D printed like my 944 version....

I tried the MagSafe for my 2016 Macan but the magnet was not strong enough for my Apple phone 7. I have a thin plastic case for protection and I applied a small metal plate, but it would slide on turns. Either it's the phone generation and/or the case; it didn't work for me. I think the Nine-Volt MagSafe charger only works for the iPhone 12, 13 and 14 series.
