See below for procedure…..Leatherworld Tech products
STEP ONE: SURFACE PREP
1) Spray light coat of Color Prep and Cleaner over the leather surface to be repaired. Use a prep cleaning scuff pad to provide an abrased surface for the filler and dye to better adhere to during the repair.
2) Wipe clean with microfiber cloth and allow surface to dry.
3) If surface is heavily soiled, please repeat procedure twice or as needed to obtain the cleanest surface possible.
STEP TWO: LEATHER CRACK FILLER
1) Use the Crack and Crease Filler with a flat edge palette - available from LWT, which is preferred for best results (or a clean cloth) over the surface to fill the cracks in the leather surface. Use several thin coats until the cracks depressions are level with the seat leather material that is not cracked. Allow 3-4 hours to dry.
2) Once filler areas are totally dry, gently use 600 grit sandpaper to smooth out the surfaces to be dyed. The filler is elastic in nature and will expand once the job is done and should last as long as original wear. If not totally dry it will peel off and you need to start application again.
3) It is recommended to gently surface sand the entire area to be dyed, i.e. entire bolster, for better adhesion of the dye. It is highly critical to be completely smooth across the entire surface in order to have the best final result.
STEP THREE: RECOLORING YOUR LEATHER (OR VINYL)
1) Test the color of the Leather Dye Colorant to ensure you have a good match. If not, dye companies make color adjusting kits.
2) Shake the product in the dye bottle well for consistent color results, as you use the product between coats.
3) Use painters tape to seal off areas not to be colored with dye.
4) Colorant can be applied with a sponge brush or spraying device (colorant may need to be thinned with distilled water) for a smoother looking result. Apply an even light coat of the colorant over the surface and allow to dry before applying subsequent coats. Sponge paint brushes of different sizes are ideal (and available at Home Depot) for the colorant application.
5) ) Allow time for each coat to dry, approximately a 4 hour period is best, so this can be a multiple day project for best results. If spots become difficult to color, due to not being dry enough, please wait until each coat is completely dry to accept additional coats. A hair dryer can be used to speed up the process with the colorant.
6) Apply 3-4 coats of the colorant until the surface is fully recolored maintaining light coats with each application. Use a “dabbing” technique to spread the colorant over areas not readily accepting the colorant for consistent coverage.
7) Final coat should be allowed to dry 16-24 hours to fully process.
STEP FOUR: LEATHER PROTECTION CREAM
1) Use a microfiber cloth to spread the leather protectant over the surface and allow to dry before applying a second coat. Approximate dry time is one hour for each coat.
2) This cream can be utilized as needed for subsequent conditioning after use. Do not use lanolin or oil based conditioning products as it will possibly remove the colorant.
Once finished this repair should last as long as the original leather surface as the filler, as mentioned, is elastic in nature and stretches when weight is placed on the seat surface.
Fantastic Andy. Thanks for sharing that. Your refreshed interior looks great!
I'm familiar with the company, Leather World Tech! I've used their products for many years but only for furniture, Suede and Nubuck specifically. They make an incredible set of cleaning and care products for Suede and Nubuck that's unbeatable in my estimation. But that's all I've ever used from them until now.
It's a brain short I guess, but I never even considered or thought about the obvious (Leather World - duh!) that they might make many different leather care products. I spent a few minutes on their website just now and they have a complete line that should easily cover pretty much any need. They offer color dye matching service too which is crucial for any restoration job.
From my experience I can attest that they are a high quality company - maybe the best out there. Thanks again for posting the pictures and the process and the company!

It's amazing what can be repaired. The driver seat of my 944 was a little damaged at the side section, and I need to repair it. I switched the back section from the right seat to the driver seat. So the repaired area it will be on the inner side and should not be worn so easy.
First I cut away all the thin worn pieces around the big hole, and sanded the leather a bit.
I used a piece of leather, and sanded down the edge all around.
Insert the piece, and glued it in with some trim contact glue.
I also did a small piece for the small hole.
Then I use a few layers of Viper Duraflex.
Sanded it smooth, ready for dye.
Here after applying the leather dye. I got the dye from Leatherword, and the brown came with an color adjustment kit.
