Hey there fellow Porsche enthusiasts!
Let me start by giving a huge shoutout to the creators of this friendlier and kinder Porsche Forum. In a world where polite communication is harder to come by than a limited edition Oak Green Metallic GT3 RS, this forum is a breath of fresh air.
My wife and I are Porsche junkies who are completely fixated on anything related to Porsches, especially the fascinating people and their stories. We adore all Porsche models, from beat-up daily drivers to the top-of-the-line jaw-droppers that we can only dream of.

I bought my first Porsche, a Porsche 928, around 22 years ago, and since then, I've owned 24 of them. Yep, you read that right - I'm afflicted with OCD (Obsessive Car Disorder), and my cure is my current poor man's Porsche line up including a 2017 Macan GTS (PTS Lava Orange), a 2016 Carrera 4 GTS (Carmine Red), a 2008 Cayenne GTS (GTS Red), a 1988 928 S4 (diamond Blue metallic), and a 1966 VW Bus S042 Westfalia Camper. Oh, and let's not forget my ugly duckling 1987 Ford F-250 which serves as the emotional support vehicle for my beloved Porsches.

Despite having zero automotive knowledge, I've learned everything I need to know about DIY repair and maintenance through online Porsche communities, Porsche owners, and video sharing platforms. I'm living it up in San Diego :)

Welcome to Carpokes! You chose a great user name - I guess I'm surprised it wasn't already taken but glad you got it! Based on your post and 24 (!) Porsches that have passed through your hands at various times, I'd say the name fits you and your wife to a tee.

Anyway, the thanks is to you for finding the site and joining. As for the Oak Green Metallic GT3 RS - yes. Two please, but make the second one British Racing Green. Thanks in advance. I'm with you in the Carmine Red world - it's a good-looking color that will always be striking and in style. (Just my opinion...kind of easy since I have one that color too.)

As for your truck, well we all gotta have one and you can never go wrong with a pickup. My '12 GMC 1500 keeps me grounded and is a reliable friend to boot.

Please post pictures of your cars if you're inclined to do so - Carpokes is a super friendly picture site.

There are plenty of sub-forums and topics to choose from, some specific to Porsche models and others encompassing various topics, so browse around. The O.K. Corral is a fun place for general and friendly banter, with some long-running topics that are kept current by the many who join in the fun.

Enjoy!

Thank you Tim for the warm welcome. You have very impressive P-cars. Is your GT4 a DE/track toy or weekend sprinter?

Thanks! The GT4 is a track day car (as many as I can squeeze in), configured and upgraded specifically for that use.

The car is my favorite in so many ways. It's a dream to drive whether on track or regular roads - the sounds, the feel, the handling, the all-around experience. It's a fantastic Porsche!

I would be so afraid to drive a special car like that at the track :), very envious of you. My wife and I had three Gen-1 Boxsters and one Cayman S in the past as track toys. We had to sell two of the Boxsters when we moved to CA, the Blue martini Boxster got totaled at the track :). I plan to get back into DE events this year with something "cheaper".

Nice cars! Sad that all the Boxters are gone but maybe you still have the Cayman? (I see the 928 tucked behind it in the first pic and maybe a bit of the Macan peeking out too?)

I hate to hear that about what happened to the Blue Martini Boxster - it was a great looking car! Track incidents are always traumatic but it's good to hear that you're planning to get back out. Being on track is excellent, exhilarating fun.

I've been planning on posting the upgrades I've done to the GT4 on a fun and enduring topic for 718's in the "718 Boxsters and Caymans" sub-forum "What did you do to make your 718 unique?"

viewtopic.php?t=1388

The "986, 987, 981 Boxsters & Caymans" sub forum has good topics on those generations too!
