Question for those of you who have done their own oil change on a Boxster/Cayman GTS 4.0.
Most of the videos relate to the Flat 4. Many comments on the difficulty, especially with the PDK. I have seen a Jet Fuel Only oil change on a Cayman GTS 4.0 with PDK.
My questions for those with hands on experience.
Was there a headlight levelling arm needing to be disengaged for access to the filter? Hoping this is just a Flat 4 issue.
Did you use the Hazet 2169 tool or 2169-10? Appears that the only difference is depth? My guess is that the lower profile 2169-10 permits easier access given the limited space available.
Is the oil pan plastic, similar as the GT4?

I did an oil change on mine back in October, so some of the details are fuzzy.

Yes plastic oil pan, just like the GT4. I did use a new plug and o-ring however the old one looked mint still. Next time i might only get a new o-ring.

I don't remember the level sensors getting in my way, I did have to remove them in the past when changing suspension components.

I used a universal three finger oil filter wrench. In the future I plan to try a 74 mm 14 flute wrench. They are available locally at the auto parts stores, Walmart etc however the Schwaben one seems like a good value. I would agree that the lower profile wrench looks easiest but you likely will be putting the wrench in place then the extension on to the wrench, not a lot of room to put the wrench up there with the extension attached.

@IanA How did your oil change go? Which filter wrench did you get?

The headlight leveling arm needing to be disengaged only applies to the turbo-4 cars. On the 4-liter, the oil change is totally straightforward once you drop the undertray. I've done the job twice now, and will do it a third time at the end of the season. I used the Hazet 2169 Filter Wrench, ordered from Pelican Parts. Put a quart bag around the oil filter before you drop it to catch most of the spill. And yes, the oil pan is plastic - so the plastic drain plug simply twists into place. Don't overtighten it.
