944 P/S to Crank bolt centering tool

This made my OCD happy hope it helps...
The power steering pulley can get bent/mangled where it bolts to the engine if it's not straight and centered, causing the pulley to wobble (and compromising the oil gear/pressure torque). If really bent, some folks just give up and buy a new pulley. Here's a pic borrowed from another thread here on Carpokes showing a mild version of the issue. Presumably, this tool was made to avoid this issue.SE_944ER wrote: Mon Jun 17, 2024 4:33 am Hi @Rilo951 ,
I'm interested in this tool but not able to understand why does it matter. Is there a possibility that power steering get misaligned somehow and what is its relation to crank bolt?
I've power steering option in my car and still not able to comprehend the usage this tool, can you please help me understand?
If you did yours last year and have no belt or oil pressure issues, you are fine. It happens when folks are in a hurry and don't make any effort to make sure the pulley is centered. If yours was off, you'd know.SE_944ER wrote: Wed Jun 19, 2024 2:23 am Hey Tom,
Thanks, did not know about this and need to check on mine now, as I did this last year without checking.
