Two questions: front license plate holders and third radiators on 991.2 Carrera t

The title says it all. Texas requires a front plate and I don’t want to drill holes . I have used the tow hook mounts but under some sunlight conditions it activates the front sensors . Texas is also hot so I’m considering the third radiator which also should be considered when mounting front license comments

For what it’s worth, I had Carbonio and can’t recommend it. It was a pain to install, would not stay straight and the tape foam pulled apart over 8 months.

Thank you not necessarily looking for bad comments on a product but comments good or bad from actual users

You'll be running a front plate 100% of the time? maybe just commit to the OEM mount? sucks to drill holes, but that's Texas life I guess. Or if you don't run a front plate, how likely is it to get tickets?

I had the front radiator in my 991.2, relatively easy install. Definitely don't want to block it with a plate.

Also on my 991, those front sensors would trigger sometimes too, and I had no plate. Probably a design flaw on the sensitivity setting. There are a variety of tow hook installs that can position the plate far to the right/left/up/down, that might make it better for your sensors.

In California they do allow vinyl license plates, but I don't think Texas allows these. https://licenseplatewrap.com/

Another option I've seen on forums is to do the OEM mount location, but to attach the plate with magnets. (you end up putting some magnets on the inside of your bumper). https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1021396 ... mount.html

I use an Eezeeplate brand holder, it attaches using pre-existing screw holes under the bumper, they supply the slightly longer than stock screws. It is a tad pricey but it works well, no tape, no drilling, easily removeable, and it’s centered.

Edit: I just realized you have a 911 not a Cayman as I do. EezePlate do show a holder for 911 but do not specify what version of 911. If you have any interest in their product I would call them to verify and maybe see if they have any pricing deals.

I made myself a “L” bracket that I attached rubber coated magnets from KJ Magnetics to.

https://www.kjmagnetics.com/products.asp?cat=6

If I were to do it over, I’d use 3 of the 38Lb. square ones, as opposed to three of the 30 lb. round ones.

Those attach to a mount under the lip that I mounted to the underside with gorilla tape.

It’s yet to fall off, but super easy to remove or install when I want to.

I like the magnet idea but I can’t find a phone number for K&K magnets

This is how I made mine for my 718 Spyder, it might not work for your model.

I cut, bent, smoothed and painted sheet metal, but you could probably find something close enough to use/paint at your local hardware store.

It’s basically an “L” bracket that’s opened more than 90* to 100 degrees.

The L bracket has the magnets mounted to it. On my first first go around, the round magnets were screwed with those plastic caps covering the exposed screws, then I added the square ones later for additional strength and those were riveted… I would just use steel rivets if I made it again along with the stronger magnets that I mentioned in my previous post.

It mounts to the front of the stock plastic plate mount, then the license plate is mounted in front of it.

The magnets stick to a second plate that is Gorilla taped to the underside of the bumper.

See the pics, let me know if you have any questions.

I use this guy. It keeps it out of range of the sensors.
