Macan also on the block and only EV for Europe. Soon gone here too..

I think trade off allows them a bit of margin to keep building ICE higher end cars in lower volumes. More affordable Porsche ownership continues to decrease.

I guess we're lucky that Porsche decided a couple of months ago to extend the 718 ICE into a 2025 model for North America, if only for part of the year. (2024 was supposed to have been the end, even for the U.S. market.)

However, getting an allocation for one is going to be a huge challenge. It appears that Porsche is limiting production, probably for a variety of reasons - some understandable and others based on complete BS.

It will be interesting to see how Porsche fakes the sound of that flat six wailing on a mountain road in second gear. Very large speaker and amplifier, I guess....

One of my neighbors has an early 996, and I'm regularly fooled into thinking an air-cooled 911 is driving by. Porsche did a surprisingly good job of making that motor sound like the out-going air-cooled engines. But it seems like once the market got used to water-cooled 911's, they forgot all about making them sound that way. I'm guessing the same will be true of the electric cars -- lots of effort at first, which will quickly give way to the sound of the Jetson's flying car.

Probably very true.
