Has anyone installed a set of these mesh screens on their car? seems like a good idea in concept, but I am not sure how real the risk is for normal driving…….until something gets a hole in it!

It was always the first thing people told me to do when I got my 718. Not sure what the openings are like on your 911 GTS, but if there are any radiators showing with no screen, I would definitely get something.

Zunsport and RGS are the most common. I only have experience with RGS and was super happy with them.

I looked into it by going to YouTube to see what the installation involves and whether the manufacturer thought it out properly and if it is a professional looking installation and not just from the appearance. I hate mickey-mouse installations where parts chafe against painted surfaces, etc. The best installation would be if Porsche would have factory installed them.

I looked at ZunSport, Rennline, Custom Car Grills and maybe a couple of others. Some of their installations turned me off (Rennline and ZunSport).

I went with the Custom Car Grills but have not installed them yet. I also ordered up some black plastic mesh grills in a roll so that I can make my own.

I am always on a back road and do not tail-gate, so damage would be minimal.

The side vents on the GT4 are prone to picking up track rubber which can jam the fan throwing a code or jamming it completely. I installed Radiator Grill Store screens. So far so good.

My GTS 4.0 was good at collecting leaves until I installed the ZunSport front grill set. And after a little more than a year, my radiators has some bent fins. My side air intakes still collect some leaves but I am not convinced of the looks yet.

I went with RGS and bought them before my 718 GTS came in. I got the full kit and it was 5 screens. It's insulting Porsche doesn't include these on a $100k+ car.

Probably a good investment, especially for the price compared to radiator repairs. Think I might get the front set first and see how it goes.

Mine (Zunsport) have saved my radiators from two birds strikes already. There was some talk about them preventing proper airflow to the radiator; I asked some engineering professors at the local university about this occurring; Conclusion was possible but extremely insignificant. Personally I thought it was just a cost cutting measure by Porsche.

Did you install all 3 or only the side grills ? I watched their video, and they only show how to install the side grills. How does the center grill get mounted ?

Thanks
