Was perusing old copies of the PCA newsletter and came across a for sale ad of an 87 951 that had a 968 6 speed with a "GT3R differential". I don't even know what questions to ask. Is this actually a thing? The newsletter was in 2012 and you can read it here. The seller was Rich Winnick.

That makes absolutely no sense.

On an unrelated note, I noticed they had the information for a 944 specialist to talk to. Never heard that name before, but I wasn't around in 2012. Has anyone heard of them? Who's that guy, but for today?

That's what I thought too. But there it was, in black & white.

It makes total sense. The 968 gearbox uses many G50-based parts, including the differential assembly. Any G50-based LSD will work in a 968 'box.

Check out Guard Transmission's application list for its LSD assemblies:

+1, my 968 6 spd uses an oem lsd sourced from a 993 Turbo.
