Soul Performance Sound Delete Kit

I recently added a Soul Performance Valve Controller to override the PSE when I'm alone in the car. I love having the valves open to listen to that flat six and exhaust but didn't like the pumped in sound to the cabin. It created a lot of drone. The Soul Sound Delete kit is simply two rubber caps that replace part of the Sound Infuser. It makes a big difference in the GT4 cabin with valves fully open. A family member immediately noticed the difference this week while riding in the car.
Since I had pulled the rear carpet to swap air filters I just kept pulling trim to access the top of the engine to install the two rubber caps for the Sound Delete. The trim came off easily. I recommend moving your seats fully forward to pop off the plastic trim the seat belts pass through. That way you don't scratch your seats. The bolts for the access panel come off easy with a T30 bit. There are two bolts in the front corners (below the front tie downs) that have limited space to use a ratchet. I used a T30 bit and 1/4 closed end wrench to break them loose. Once loose they spin off by hand. In the pictures below you can see the Sound Infuser. The front of the car has a plastic ring you squeeze and the pipe comes off. The rear portion pulls off the diaphragm.
Next you cap off the Diaphragm and the entrance pipe to the cabin. The rear cap went on easy. The plastic fitting at the entrance of the cabin is larger fitting and took some work to get the rubber cap over it. I used a heat gun to make the rubber pliable and a dental tool to help guide the rubber over the side. After some stern words she finally went on.
I noticed the Diaphragm was able to move since the removed portion had the attach point to the metal frame on the engine. I used a zip tie to secure the Diaphragm. Keep it from bouncing around the engine bay.
The access plate goes back on and you start gently popping plastic trim in the reverse order you took it off. After that it was time for an oil change. Love working on this car. The Sound Delete is reversible too. Just save the part you took off.
Huge Thanks to Ed for the bolster protectors and Tom for the license plate mounts!!!
