Laser Cut Gasket Library?

Hello Fellow Pokes,

Not sure if this is a thing yet but since I am fairly new here I would like to get a sense of how many of us are using simple/cheap laser cutters to make our own gaskets? I have recently gotten back into my Porsche addiction and will likely encounter the need for a gasket or 20 in the course of the next few months.

In my other tinkering obsession with small 2 stroke street bikes, I have made it a habit to scan any and all new gaskets and have had a few where I have scanned the part and photoshopped to clean up the file and cut gaskets that are simple and clean.

Having a repository for a library of gaskets is quite convenient when you’re wrenching late night and need just one small gasket to complete a job.

I like it. What file format would you normally use? I'd say it should fall without this general CAD file category, although could see a sub-forum here specifically for gaskets...

Thanks Tom.
I normally export my cut files as .jpg or .tif files since most of the lasers will recognize these types. Proper scaling is critical of course so I typically annotate my files with a reference dimension in millimeters.

Old Thread, but most of the files i work with at least to import into Lightburn are AI or equivalent files. I do use jpg as well at times. Just had to make a gasket for my Kline exhaust because i am impatient

If I can do anything to support posting laser cut gaskets, just let me know. I'm mindful that Bambu added a laser cutter to its latest printer, so the number of laser cutters among us is likely to multiply...

I actually just recieved one of the new Bambu H2D w/laser cutter at work, and would be happy to contribute any way I can on this project.
