Shift knob upgrade
Trying to source a shift knob that would be better feeling/quality than the standard one that comes in the 981/718 gt4. The plastic is not holding up as i thought it would. Any suggestions would be appreciated. (minus the 911r knob as thats kind of out of budget for just a shift knob)

These are discussed a lot, I have no personal experience with them.

I bought the GT3 manual knob (see post 55 here for pics from another user that made the swap: https://rennlist.com/forums/718-gts-4-0 ... gt3-4.html). Found it lightly used from a forum member at a great price, so I jumped on it. Suncoast sells them for almost $1k, unfortunately.
It's more or less same shape, size, weight as stock GT4 knob, which I dind't like and thought looked cheap. Very happy w/ the appearance of the new knob, and it has indentations in the side that make it easier to grip, depending on how you hold it. If I were really thinking hard, I might take it apart and add some lead tape to weight it up a bit, but I'm terrified of dissasembling what is a too-expensive knob to begin with.
To what another commenter said, there's also aa huge thread on rennlist about sportshifters and the guy there will apparently work with you to get font and everything exactly right.

I found a used SportShifters knob on PCA marketplace this winter. I am waiting to get my car out of winter storage so I can try it out. I like the weight and that it can be lowered to give the feel of a short shifter.

I have been contemplating a Sporshifters manual knob upgrade.
Are there any videos on how to remove the stock manual knob?
Has anyone used the Medium weight (200-300 g)? If so, how do you like it?
