Dash crack repair or recover

Thanks to Tom for posting the detailed dash removal PDF instructions. I'm planning on undertaking this project after the driving season is over here in central PA.
I need to have the small dash cracks repaired or the dash recover. Is there any recommendation on who to send the dash to or other DIY options? Also while the dash is out are there any other recommended preventative maintenance item to take care of?

Here's a thread showing what one of the Carpokian wizards here did to repair his dash.

Actually, the entire thread ('Father Kid 944 Project') is excellent regarding not only the dash rehab but the whole process a father & son undertook with a 944.

Thanks Blue line for the link. My seats were repaired by the PO so at least I don't have that to content with.

will re-cover the dash in OEM style material. Or you can go leather like classic9 or such.

Do you have local auto upholstery shops near you ? That is another option .

Just Dashes in California does great work, but it's pricey. A good local auto upholstery shop can also do it.
While it's out, replace all the vacuum lines and check the heater core for leaks. It's the perfect time.

Also a good time to replace the crumbling foam on the heater console flaps...

Thanks to everyone who replied. After addressing oil leaks, installing new oil pan gasket, motor mounts, hoses, turbo rebuild etc it's time to get the front end alignment done and move on to the dash this fall.
I'll add to foam for the vents to my list. If anyone think of other restoration once the dash is out please let me know.. at least the 944 does have all the actuators and vacuum solenoids like my 928s did when I restored those cars
