Intro: There have been instances on track, where a very hard hit to a curb can cause the aluminum strut tower to shatter. I believe this is exacerbated by stiffer springs and high damping along with higher than stock camber adjustments. Porsche motorsports added a top plate with their 981 GT4 Clubsport cars by building this part. I run track days, I have max stock camber (-1.5) and I plan to install camber plates and adjustable track shocks in the future. Can this prevent failure? Maybe? Can this prevent a catastrophic failure where lots of other parts are damaged? (Hood, lower frame, fender, etc) Possibly? Having built and raced rally cars - reinforcing and plating the strut tops is a standard practice for chassis longevity. This is cheap insurance.

Buyer beware:
There are companies that are getting these plates and adding two spacers, two long bolts, and selling them for three to four times the original price. These are a Porsche Motorsport part with a Porsche part number stamped on them. I was able to get these shipped FedEx to me with tax and duty from the UK to USA for $272 from Eurospares.

It takes a little bit of plastic / rubber trim cutting as they were designed for race cars with none of it. You have to remove the fender liners to access the side bolts from underneath. I also whipped up an aluminum bracket for the wiper fluid cap.

Thanks for the information. So refreshing with the parts straight from Porsche are cheaper than the aftermarket.
