My 1&4 manifold failed at the point where the tube enters the flange. See photo below.

My research has shown that 951 111 131 06 manifolds are as plentiful as hen’s teeth, and highly valued if you do find one. It would seem that replacing the original with the 1988 version with the expansion bellows would be the logical choice, but the 951 111 127 05/02/04 manifolds seem no easier to find than the originals.

Has anyone made the change from the original to the 1988 manifold?

Are there known sources for replacement manifolds?

I was able to find these refurbished manifolds with the expansion bellows at the 944 Store:

I wasn't aware of that -- looks like a great option. Welding on these headers can be tricky due to the materials used, but presumably they 944store is well aware of that... I had my headers jet-hot coated in 2008 and the coating still looks good today. Is that the outright cost, or do you need to send in your cores? Seems like a bargain if no core is needed!

That is outright cost; no core is required. They offer the manifolds in three finishes: polished, blue/grey matte coating, and black (unfinished).

Under $600 for the NA manifold too. Definitely bookmark worthy

wow, great find! I will most likely be purchasing a set in the coming months. Once I financially recover from all my other winter projects..

better order fast because last time I was looking for a set, they were out and new stock is on a "as found" basis, meaning it can take months to get new stock.
