Kroon harness - shipping options for original

I think I am going to bite the bullet and order a Kroon harness for my 944T. I have replaced a few pieces already but I'm not confident in the whole thing, especially the grounds. They do seem expensive but something tells me if I was to try to make one myself, I would come around to seeing the Kroon one as cheap in the end.
I'm not sending them my original one though - I'm just going to send a spare KLR connector I got on ebay. I checked with them and they said that's all they need. Does anyone have tips on shipping options? Kroon told me not to use USPS (they hardly needed to warn me) but I'm not sure what shipper is a good choice these days.

Based on recent experience, I would say DHL is the clear winner these days for international shipping. It was literally half the price and twice as fast...
I toyed with making my own harness as well, and came to the same conclusion. Trying to source all of the wires in the right sizes and colors, all the connectors, all the pins, crimping dies, etc. -- suddenly the Kroon harness looks like a bargain, especially if you factor in your time...

I ordered my Kroon 951 harness in December, 2024. I don't recall if I had a choice on shipping. Kroon sent it via UPS Express for 79.29 €. UPS charged $91 in Government charges and $14 in brokerage charges. I've gotten packages from Germany via DHL and never had any issues, so I'd agree with Tom on DHL.

You can also look at TechnicaRacewire in CA. Might save you a bunch of international headaches. Says sold out on their site, but I'm sure they're mostly build to order and you should inquire.

And don't use UPS unless you want to spend a ton of time disputing duties/tariff charges.

After visiting Techinca's open house in late February and taking to a couple of staff members, they are moving away from the 944 program and focusing on custom EFI harnesses for the platforms they support (911, Datsun Z car, etc). This is understandable. They are making some amazing Mil-spec harnesses for such applications.
I also talked to Gerard and his son from Kroon during the same weekend---they are committed to all of the old Porsche platforms, and their harnesses are exactly as Porsche made them. Shipping and customs are a consideration, but not as bad as I expected for the two occasions I have ordered from them during the past year of our BS tariff era . . . .

That’s too bad. I ended up building my own because I switched to MaxxECU and added in custom functions that aren’t standard. It wasn’t that hard or expensive. Just takes a lot of planning and understanding of the functions you need. I bought the new firewall boot from technica
