I just finished installing a 70mai 1S dash cam. These devices are so small and picture quality so good - did I mention also ridiculously cheap.

Nice. How hard was it to install? Are their install instructions somewhere or did you just figure it out? Somewhere I thought I read (maybe here?) that installing the factory version was a pain....?

I've never had a dash cam so I didn't want to spend a lot first time around.

The 70mai and a 128GB micro SD card (good for about 10 hours of looped video !!!) was about $55 total on Amazon.

There are plenty of reviews and set up videos on Youtube.

Programming and set up is easy but instructions are less than clear - youtube was a big help.

There is no screen on the camera the video is either viewed on your phone or remove the SD card and load onto your computer. It accepts voice commands and also takes single pics. The image quality is superb - apparently uses a Sony chip !

The camera is really small and from the drivers seat is completely hidden.

Install is extremely easy - I purchased a long micro usb to USB cable and powered the camera from 12 volt power supply on the passenger side using a USB plug in adapter.

The cable I hid under the headliner and behind the A pillar rubber gasket totally unseen.

The camera is mounted to an electrostatic patch on the windshield so it can be attached and relocated as necessary.

At some point I'll tap in to the fuse box.

I ordered the Porsche Dashcam. I get it this Tuesday. I'll give it to my SA so they can install when they do the PDI on my car. I'll post on here how it works. So we can have a comparison on the two or different webcams that they have out there for in dash mount.

So I got my Porsche Dascam installed by the dealership, I haven't played with it that much. I was trying to use my phone app, but I am having trouble connecting to the dashcam. Every time I turn the car on it says that it is starting recording. And when I turn the car off it says that it stopped recording. So it is doing some recording. I thought about taking the simcard out and installing on my card reader and see if I have any recordings. I will let you know on here how this thing works.

Is this the official Porsche one? Have any pictures of it installed?
