Ah yes, NA is a different story.
If you do make it to the dyno then I’d suggest snagging one of these first if you haven’t seen them already. The Link offering is much simpler and more affordable but works very well. It interfaces with Link ECU software which I find super handy but it also works ...

Re: Need MaxxECU base tune
With engine tuning there are so many variables that can effect end result, including at idle. It's difficult to compare control and calibration settings to other peoples unless your setup is exactly the same.
You say you're running open loop idle, do you mean open loop fuel control only? Or ...

Re: Need MaxxECU base tune
Ok my bad I may have misunderstood your concern. Setting up idle ignition control will only help ensure a stable idle. Won’t affect your lambda.
You’ll want to make sure your VE table is squared away first as well as your open loop ICV calibrations.

Re: Problems Sourcing Piston Rings
Mahle Motorsport is who I originally reached out to. I’m not sure Mahle Motorsport is actually a company anyway. Their website only has a generic call center number and 3 different emails (customer service, sales, tech support) which all get forwarded to US customer service.

Re: Problems Sourcing Piston Rings
I'm in talks with Mahle right now but just via email.
I was forwarded a couple times between Mahle US and Mahle aftermarket. Basically both trying to pass me off on the other since they weren't familiar with the part number. I have a phone number now for someone (supposedly from another department ...

Re: "engine control fault" and a theory.
Do you recall the specific P-code that was set each time? Was there any on-board snap shot data your generic code reader can display? I wouldn't be surprised if it was an actual physical phenomenon that's triggering the failure code rather than a software bug.

Problems Sourcing Piston Rings
I have a new old stock set of Mahle Motorsport / Andial 104.5mm 951 Pistons [P/N: MAH 103 099 50 ] which came with rings intended to be used for OE bore material. My bores are refinished in Nikasil so I need to source new rings.

Re: Need MaxxECU base tune
Going to need some time to digest that lol but great info.
I’ve added a picture of what I’m seeing. To be crystal clear, I have no idea what I’m doing and I’ve hadn’t had time to troubleshoot. I’ve literally spent half an hour or less with the ECU. So I don’t know if I’m graphing the right thing ...

Re: Need MaxxECU base tune
Curious why your speed sensor voltages are so low? That's below the factory spec. With a .5mm gap, I see multiples of that at 200rpm? The latest generation VR trigger chips (i.e., the MAX992x) have adaptive trigger modes that I played around with at one point. They seem to work very well -- no ...
