Re: 3.0 16V engine mods, etc
It is beginning to dawn on me that what I took for a loss of traction mixed with the smooth/progressive nature of how the OS Giken LSD worked was in fact valve float kicking in at around 5500 rpm when running more than 18 psi of boost. Stock 16v springs were not going to perform otherwise I ...

Re: tracing S2 tach signal
No problem, I have all the 90 drawings stitched together as well if you need them, makes them much easier to follow. 89 and 91 are slightly different so you have to be careful you have the right ones.

Re: tracing S2 tach signal
Goes from pin 6 on the DME to the tacho, via the 8 or 14pin plug near the DME (depending on year).

Re: Turbo water pump
Ohh I can make it work, I just have to set the ECU Power hold timer to 5min which isn't really an issue because the ECU itself uses bugger all power. What im struggling with is the logic to power down the ECU when the fans and pump (it has a turbo) have reached a temperature setpoint because that ...

Re: Turbo water pump
It definitely works without the DME, the pump stays on after the ignition and DME relay are de-energised.
For this reason it is hard to control with an after market ECU, you have to maintain the power to the ECU somehow and switch it off when the temp switch turns the pump off.

Re: Fuel Injector End Angle
Injector timing is set to 400deg standard on Link from memory, it's on my list of things to look into but I haven't got around to playing with it yet.

But spinning the tires is fun Michael.
If you have to start pulling boost and or timing your car is telling you you've got too much power.

Re: 750-800hp 944 S2 3L 16v
Welcome to the club! The S2 is really a great platform for this, it incoporates a lot of imporvements that the early Turbos didnt have and all the mounting points for the extra turbo parts are all there.

Re: Update on 3.2ltr 16v turbo race car.
Yes 968 head, with variocam attached for now.
I think we actually ended up slightly under 9:1, the head volume was slightly higher when measured than what we specced the pistons for.
