Re: 968 CS Up Close and Personal

So Axl, since you thought the M220 was standard on the CS I guess we can assume you happen to have one of the rare machines that has the option? If so it appears your car just becomes rarer and rarer, ha!!

When I moved to Stuttgart, I knew a 968 CS was in my future. Many years ago, Excellence ...

Re: 968 CS Up Close and Personal

Clearly I spoke definitively when it wasn't correct.

I was surprised to learn today that of the 1538 CS cars, only 396 came with M030 and 696 total had M220. Shocking that less than half of the CS had M220, seems like a real missed opportunity.

Re: 968 CS Up Close and Personal

LSD or gearbox oil cooler?

All 968 CS came with M220. Gearbox cooling loop was a 944 feature, not on 968s.

All 968 CS did NOT come with option 220 lsd. And I know the gearbox cooling loop was a 944 turbo feature, I've had 2 of them.

Sorry, what is your source for the gearbox ...

Didn't realize I was limited in the amount of photos per post. The splitter is in the last series of photos.

Re: 968 CS Up Close and Personal

Here's a couple more photos. As you can see, the splitter is LOW. It scraped on everything and my mechanic (Reiner Telkamp) said they used to explode them routinely on track in the 90s.

968 CS Up Close and Personal

At the urging of some of the forum members, I'm going to post some information on my 968 CS. A bit of background. I'm American, but I live in Germany. I've been a transaxle owner for most of this millennium with pretty much every variant of 944 and 968 except an S2 Cabriolet. I knew when I moved ...

@AxlMcCln
A true 968 CS!!
Please feel free to post some photos (engine/interior, overall side shot) if you don't mind as I believe the Transaxle crowd (and others) here would enjoy them.

Ok Rob, here are a few photos. Interestingly, my car came with a strut brace and notched fuel rail cover ...

@AxlMcCln
WOW, nice collection of current drives, particularly the 968 CS!
The Alpina B10 V8 must be interesting on the autobahn, somewhat relaxing I'd imagine.
There is a strong group of transaxle members and I'm sure you will find some interesting posts.
Glad you found CARPOKES and thank you ...
