Tom wrote: Mon Aug 15, 2022 9:15 am Happy to report that the new batch of black 718 license plate mounts have arrived, so if you previously asked for a set, please remind me via admin@carpokes.com. I'll try to reach out to those who asked, but don't hesitate to remind me!
Well, shoot. The new batch of black 718 mounts were not milled correctly, so we're having them redone. It will likely take another 2, maybe 3 weeks to get a full set of replacements, though I should get a handful sooner to cover the people who have already paid for these. I think I reached out to everyone who has already paid, and offered a refund in the meantime, but if I missed you and you don't want to wait, just email me at admin@carpokes.com Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience. I'll post here as soon as I have more in hand (and confirmed good).

I do have them in white, by the way, but I generally recommend those for white cars only....

I assume one still cannot see these when mounted, right Tom? If so then the color should not matter, unless someone really cares!

That's true. Some folks buy them because they need to remove their license plate on the track -- in order to have an exposed tow hook to comply with track rules. It's still not a big deal, but white tends to stand out more, whereas black brackets and bits are all over every car anyway.... But you're right -- I shouldn't assume that matters to everyone... :P

I emailed about acquiring these for my Golf. Here are two photos of the back that you requested.

I assume they'll just be able to stick onto that area as its flat and doesn't have any grooves or similar.

How did this turn out on your Golf R? I'm waiting on a 2023 in white and want to use these too.

I don't remember if DripFluent got a set before I ran out? But I have had other Golf R people use them and say they were ok. As soon as I have the new batch ready, I'll post here. Shouldn't be too much longer....

I need to get something like this. I always remove my rear plate for track days so access to the tow point is readily available ... hopefully will never need it. I worry about the plastic bumper stripping out from taking the plate on/off so many times.

Yes, sorry, I've been dealing with a few family issues, but I now have 10 sets of black 718 mounts from the machine shop. I need to prep them for shipping (add the thread inserts, 3M tape, etc.) but will do that in the next few days. I have 3 or 4 people who paid before I ran out, and at least that many who have already posted here or contacted me wanting a set, so I will fill those requests on a first-com, first serve basis, based on when folks first asked. If you already paid, there's nothing else to do -- I'll get yours out in the next day or two. If you have not already received an invoice and still want a set, please PM me here or email me at admin@carpokes.com -- and be sure to include the info outlined here:

Thanks for everyone's patience -- this has taken much longer than I had expected and am trying to lock down a big new batch now...
