New Member Check-In
My name is Michael and I live in the Midwest (where we don't have forest fires, hurricanes, cyclones, surges or weird storms--just heat and humidity in the summer, gorgeous color in the fall, and cold in the winter). I won my first Porsche (Boxster) in a raffle, which marked my conversion from Corvettes. Since then I've had (one at a time) a used 911 (2014) and a new 718 GTS 25th anniversary, and I just took delivery (11-3-22) of a 2023 Carrera, which looks like a keeper. I'm a retired psychologist (private practice for four decades), now just writing, lecturing, and spending leisurely afternoons in the driveway with Baroque music coming from the garage: my definition of heaven.

Midwest here as well, and agree with your description of heaven! Nice line up of Porsche cars too. I go way back starting my love affair with Porsche buying a preowned 1980 911SC Targa, then a 1988 911 Carrera. I changed gears a little after that and owned 6 BMW’s, 2 Mercedes which I still own one of. Always lurking in the back of my mind was Porsche, so now we own a 2013 Panamera GTS & 2015 Macan S. I can’t believe I would ever own a Porsche with the engine in the front, but man this thing is a blast to drive! Enjoy your retirement and your Porsches!

Beautiful car in a beautiful setting! Welcome to Carpokes. A raffle you say? Wow! I didn't realize '23s were already being delivered. That's one of the newest cars on Carpokes for sure! Based on your other picture, it looks like you've already switched out the wheels?mtrout wrote: Sat Nov 12, 2022 8:25 am My name is Michael and I live in the Midwest (where we don't have forest fires, hurricanes, cyclones, surges or weird storms--just heat and humidity in the summer, gorgeous color in the fall, and cold in the winter). New to Carpokes, not-so-new to Porsches.
Currently have a pair of 996 Turbos (one set up more for track, one more for street) and a 991 Turbo S. GT4RS inbound!
I'll kick off with a couple of images from a drive we did this morning...

Welcome aboard pfbz , that’s a quite of collection you got there. I’m sure you had a great time on that drive , the scenery is amazing, I’m trying to figure out where that might be with the mountains in the backgroundpfbz wrote: Sat Nov 12, 2022 4:56 pm New to Carpokes, not-so-new to Porsches.

Good morning from the great white north!
I’m very happy to introduce myself.
Jonathon Werier
I currently live in Winnipeg Beach in transit to British Columbia.
I am a newly retired family doctor….44 years was enough….okay, I’m not a geezer yet….I started medicine when I was 23.
I am the very proud owner of a pristine atlas grey metallic…..it’s not grey…..it’s sort of dark purple black 2007 997.1 turbo…..manual bought new on 07…last of the Mezger engines
It is my summer drive with only 45000 km.
My newly arrived retirement gift: a black on black 2022 BMW M3 comp xdrive.
( a slightly ridiculous car…..and no grill comments please…..the car gets upset)
Cheers!

From one Porsche turbo fan to another -- welcome to Carpokes! Dark purple black you say? When you get a chance, would love to see pictures. I vowed to make my next new (someday) Porsche PTS, and am still shopping colors. Amethyst is always high on my list, but I keep my eyes open for colors in that vicinity.Turbodoc wrote: Mon Nov 14, 2022 10:32 am Good morning from the great white north!
