Hard to see that as a "bad" thing. I imagine most people in the market already have their config mostly settled. I'm not even in the market (since I have a nice 2018 CB), but I'd have no trouble meeting that freeze date. All I'd need is a day or two to agonize over the poor color choices.

So very true regarding the paint - it's limited! But you can have a lot of colors for a wheelbarrow full of moolah in large bills.Arne2 wrote: Fri Apr 21, 2023 6:09 pm Hard to see that as a "bad" thing. I love my Porsche's and continue to spend the $$ - life's too short to sit by idly. And in that regard, I really want to order a PTS car while I can.
However, in addition to Porsche pulling PTS availability randomly (just as soon as one's allocation comes in...) and otherwise playing games with PTS, I am waiting for the next shoe to drop in the configurator:
"Base vehicle cost is for primer grey only. Paint will cost you extra*. We have 17 differently priced PTS tiers available ranging from $1,523 for base white to $95,759 for the top tiers of PTS colors."
*Primer delete available at -$2,250. "

Not anymore. PTS not available on 718 models, per Porsche sales docs. Not shown on the Configurator either.blueline wrote: Fri Apr 21, 2023 7:00 pm But you can have a lot of colors for a wheelbarrow full of moolah in large bills.

I know. That was part of my tongue-in-cheek remark regarding PTS in general. It's actually also pulled for some 911 models (Targa for instance) even though it still shows available on the configurator. PTS is here today, gone today.
I just lost a PTS for a pretty special 718 allocation.

Oak Green Metallic PTS with Espresso Natural Leather. Would be really high on my PTS wish list.
Of course, Espresso is also gone for 2024...

Oak Green Metallic is fine! That and several other darker greens are my short listed colors - Brewster Green, British Racing Green, Porsche Racing Green Metallic, Racing Green Metallic, Forest Green Metallic and a few others would all be possibilities. But would they be available? Probably not - that's the unanswerable question. Porsche giveth and Porsche taketh away.Arne2 wrote: Fri Apr 21, 2023 8:17 pm Oak Green Metallic PTS with Espresso Natural Leather. Would be really high on my PTS wish list.

The Cayenne Turbo has Club Leather Truffle Brown/Cohiba Brown combo. The 911 has Club Leather Truffle Brown w/chalk stitching. Both are gorgeous imo, so yes, the Espresso falls in the same territory for me but now it's gone for 2024? Gotta love how Porsche pulls the rug out from under buyers. ̶T̶r̶a̶c̶k̶ Trash My Dream! PTS windows can be very short. It's one thing to get and allocation for a car, its another to get an allocation in a PTS window. Even if your allocation can qualify for PTS, you still need to submit the color to Porsche and they need to bless the option and approve it. At anytime they could say no. My PTS 991.2 GT3 took 9 months from the day I ordered to delivery. PTS can delay production, my build date, slid from a November 17 build to finally getting built in February 18. Paint gets ordered months in advance.

You described everyone's PTS anguish! Porsche did the same for my TTS - might have taken an additional 6 to 12 months if I had insisted on going that route. It was a long enough wait as it was without that unknown.toddinmd wrote: Fri Apr 21, 2023 9:55 pm PTS windows can be very short. I know that Porsche wants to keep exclusivity, but the randomness of how PTS is handled and the seemingly out of the blue changes are, nevertheless, bothersome and irritating if you're the one trying to get a color. I understand that with PTS Plus but the 'standard' PTS colors (limited and changing) should be offered with a bit more clarity and certainty.

oooh.... you guys and PTS wistfulness! You're bringing back one of my few regrets in life- which was passing on a 5,000 mile 981 GT4 in PTS Viper Green with yellow stitching. It also almost to much to bear.
