Wow, those are the longest spark plugs I think I've ever seen. Which motor are those for?

2.0 L flat four in the 718.

They look longer in the picture, partly because they are so narrow. The "wrench" head is 12-point 14mm. Threads are probably M12.

I did two Porsche projects over the weekend:

I installed used resonated ceramic coated Soul over axle pipes on my GTS. A bit of background when I added the softronics tune was the first time I had played with the exhaust valve control strategy and did notice the brilliance of the stock strategy. With 100% stock exhaust and the valves forced open the drone was unpleasant and undesirable when you were on the highway or even going through a parking lot. The 2000-2500 rpm range is the worst.
After the swap from the GPF OAPs to the resonated GPF delete units the tone is somehow more pleasant but still way to loud and obnoxious for me so I switched to the softonics tune with the stock valve strategy and I think this is the sweet spot for my tastes. The car just rips and it is not look at me loud

The other change I made this week was the addition of the DSC sport controller. Man this thing is good, the ride is so much more comfortable and the suspension just feels planted. I have not yet had it on the track or even back road twisties so I reserve full judgment but the initial impressions are glowing. One negative is they did two things to the programing that are not options, the mode dial no longer works for the suspension and the module remembers the last setting. I really wish these were configurable.... like REALLY wish they were. I believe only some models have the mode dial so I see this puts me in the minority.

Good feedback all around. Glad you (mostly) like the DSC. Apparently I benefit from the GT4 not having a mode dial based on what you have discovered. You're up on the software end of things so I'm sure this has already crossed your mind, but have you talked to someone at DSC/TPC Racing about the two issues that are bothersome to you? It's something that they might be able to reconfigure at some point down the road - couldn't hurt to ask.

Did you stick with the default DSC setting or have you changed some of the parameters? As I mentioned before, I left mine at the default based on the conversation with the folks at DSC but I'd like to hear what you did and what you think if you decide to explore that more fully.

I did talk to Owen at DSC about the lack of support for the mode dial, he said he would let me know if they ever add that functionality but I did not get the feeling this was important or a high priority for them.

So far I have not made any changes but I have looked through the software a good bit and feel I have a basic understanding of it. With the module in the frunk, I would need a longer USB cable to do any logging so I do't know know if any changes will be based on logs or just by feel. So far it really feels great and I don't have any characteristics of the car I want to go after changing/improving. I have only driven around the neighborhood, to the grocery store, gym etc. After I have some more miles on it I might try some changes. On Rennlist there is a guy who posted some of his changes, when time allows I will compare his changes to the latest tune from DSC. There is also a youtube video where Tom goes over some of the basic suggested user changes to tune the feel of the car.

The current calibration does not have the inside front corner damping lower than the rest like on the calibration shown on youtube in the g-force table. That seems like a neat idea to me.

I have just done a zero point set.

Thank you for that info. I'll stay put for the time being and will wait for you do the experimenting for us both.

I feel that I'd almost need to be trackside, making setting changes, going back out for a few laps to see if I could detect a difference or improvement and then back in for more changes. Not sure I'd have the confidence to know which was actually the best setting. I tend to just drive and feel the car, taking advantage of what ever it is that I sense as I drive. Not very scientific or technical, I know, but I get around pretty good and I have fun!

Fabulous weekend! Great fun was had by all, with the exception of the 911 owner who seriously bent his 911 exiting turn 11 early in the first day's first session....not sure he even had time to warm his tires (contributing factor?).

The weather was quite humid and warm (90°+) and almost precip free. Decided to bail slightly over halfway through one of the eight sessions when the only rain all weekend became more intense than I was comfortable dealing with. Regardless, I enjoyed the entire weekend, we had outstanding garage mates (one of which was the gentleman in the 981 ahead of me in the 2nd pic), and our BGTS behaved quite well.

Many thanks to the sponsoring PCA & BMW entities who did their usual outstanding job of conducting all the weekend's activities....seriously, everything ran like a fine Swiss time piece.

I'm hoping the the same, but it looked like curtains from what I could see when passing by (extremely nasty shunt ). Fortunately, the driver didn't appear physically hurt in any way.
