Definitely not a pro, like you I just enjoy the work side, plus when I was younger and poorer it was a good way to get what I wanted without spending a fortune....or get something better for the same as a budget option at a shop. Today you can buy just about any type of tint you want to DIY, so it's a fun learning experience...and mind numbingly frustrating all at the same time.usury wrote: Tue Jul 11, 2023 8:27 pmVery well said! It sounds like you tint windows professionally. Thank you for the advice about clear tinting the front window for UV protection.
The tint pros out there make it look easy because they are so good at it. They've put in the time and the practice, and they definitely earn their fees.
Much respect to you.
The multi-panel thing was the norm back in the late 1900's, even on relatively 'flat' glass. This thread was timely as my car is on the road enough that I need to go and get it tinted, and it will be interesting to see if I can find a place that will tint the car or if I'll have the same problems you did, living in the tropics of SE Florida, there is a tint shop every 15ft on any major road, but these old school window patterns are so rare, it's going to throw some folks off.
