[quote="Larry C" - Are you able to post the 5 page color spread here. We would love to see it.[/quote]

(Duh) he says to himself, what a great idea, why didn’t take a picture of each page > to pdf. Yes, thanks for suggesting it. The Seattle PCA magazine is award winning - full color glossy magazine, I acquired three copies, down to two. Yup, next opportunity will do. Originally the site published also online, but it’s been a few years, likely won’t find it.

Hello all, Joey here a recent new member. Currently I only have a 996 cabrio to drive but have other projects. 3-914's, 944 & 356 basket case.
About have one 914 ready to go with a fresh 2056 weber carbs. Question is do I go ahead and install the AC system? Already have the compressor mounted to the motor but not sure of how well the system will work. Anyone out there running ac on a 914?

Hi Joey - welcome to Carpokes! You certainly have plenty of projects on your plate - very good in my estimation. Good luck with all of them!

Regarding the A/C, same as WillyDaP, I have no helpful input on that, but others here will. You might want to consider starting a new thread about just that specific subject and question in the Carpokes 'Classic Air-Cooled Cars' sub-forum where more who know those kinds of things might see it.

Welcome aboard Joey, great to have you and all your projects!

What A/C system do you have? I believe they were all dealer-installed on the 914, and not all the same? A/C is high priority for me, so I'd always vote to include it. Hard to know if yours will be cold -- lots of variables. If it were my car, I'd be inclined to get a modern compressor (e.g., Sanden) and a parallel flow condenser. That way you can run r134a and still get super cold a/c. R12 is a pain to get (like $30-$60 per can on eBay); the substitute r12 is highly flammable; and just putting r134a into an old r12 system is likely to yield poor results unless the compressor is up to the task, and the condenser is updated to a parallel flow unit. But with a good compressor and condenser, you can get the temps down into the 30's. :)

Welcome and there is a wealth of information concerning all Porsches here, but there are some very knowledgeable 944 Porschephiles on Carpokes. Always great to have new members from other parts of the Globe and do post some pictures up of your 944 when you can.
