Talked to dealer today. Cxx is locked until mid 2025 and I have June build. Only way to get pts is weissach but you are forced to do alcantara dash. Only way to get leather dash is non weissach but you are forced to forgo pts. Catch 22.

And of course, only leather you can do is black unless you get cxx.

So the question for the ages, how will alcantara dash hold up in a convertible that is NOT a garage queen.

Porsche delights in conundrums, especially for customers. They make you pay for your desires in more ways than one. (But it's still worth it in the end.)

If the articles comparing the two are accurate (I searched "alcantara vs leather"), then it appears that alcantara holds up better than leather to weather - cold, heat, and the sun's rays - but beyond that, leather is more durable. That would seem to give the advantage to alcantara in your case. I guess it depends on how much sun and heat, along with how long you intend to keep the car.

Hopefully a long time. This is the car I’ve been working towards for many, many years.

That's just plain ole' awesome.

Assuming you go with what's in your teaser post, I think you will have made the right choice with Weissach and its accompanying alcantara requirement, especially considering how you're planning on using the car. And the color looks great in the rendering. Is that the Cobalt Blue Metallic?

This is a pic of a new '24 Cayenne color - Algarve Blue Metallic - in a somewhat similar shade and color to Ocean Blue Metallic. (Just finalized build for ours in Algarve last week. Due here March 1st.)

I like nice blues.
