PM replied. Did these come up on some other forum/group today? Too many people all asking for them at once for it to be a coincidence....?Bolder Boxster wrote: Thu Dec 23, 2021 4:41 pmHi Tom: third post for me, also. I will send you a PM for one black set for my yet-to-arrive 718 BGTS4 ASAP. The mounts are an excellent solution to the rear license plate no-drill challenge.drive95 wrote: Thu Dec 23, 2021 1:36 pm Third post for me here! Would like to order a set of these and have them shipped directly to my SA at Porsche Birmingham. Will PM!

The first reference that I saw was just a couple of days ago but the post was 2 months old (post #21) in a thread entitled "Proper Rear License Plate Mounting" in the "Exterior" sub-forum of the "718 Forum". Timing could be due to a (spurious) feeling of pre-Christmas wealthiness!Tom wrote: Thu Dec 23, 2021 5:44 pmPM replied. Did these come up on some other forum/group today? Quick PSA: if you have a car on order and plan to use the Carpokes license plate mounts, you seriously need to stress to your salesperson not to drill your bumper if you don't want drill holes, and generally make a fuss over it. More often than not, mentioning it once or twice won't save your bumper. New cars come off the truck and go straight into the pre-check/prep mode within the service dept., and those guys are on serious auto-pilot. If someone doesn't step in right then and there, the bumper gets drilled. I've had so many people tell me their bumper was drilled despite asking otherwise, I thought I'd mention it here. You need to belabor the point, and remind them shortly before your car arrives. That is all.

I had my SA present as the car literally got off the transport truck. He placed a warning sign on the rear bumper plus notified everyone in the prep department. Fortunately, the car wasn’t disfigured.

I finally took delivery of my new GT4 last Friday. When I told my SA that I did not want the rear license plate drilled she said she would put painters tape on the back and wrote in sharpy do not drill. That was effective in preventing any damage. So I was able to install my Carpoke mounts last night. I would line up the mount where I wanted it and then used tape to outline the location. That way when I removed the red film from the adhesive tape I could locate the mount in the exact spot I wanted it. Turned out pretty great.

it is a crazy design, hard to believe that's the best they could come up with especially with the tow hook being right behind the plate.Tom wrote: Mon Jan 10, 2022 8:06 pmAwesome, thanks.
