I put this cell phone mount and charger from two different products. I had been using an Ottocast adaptor box, but that stopped communicating. We'll see how this works. But I hate clutter[attachment=0]20240510_101802.jpg

I have the Nine-Volt charger / holder that snaps into the ashtray cubby but doesn’t cover the cubby’s door. It definitely has a non-clutter look.

When I am on any kind of trip, I want reliable navigation. The Ottocast was giving me android auto on the infotainment until it wasn't. I find the Porsche nav system pretty anemic. So mounting the phone high up should give me a good sight picture. When the car is out of warranty I will modify the head unit to allow android auto. We shall see.

Android Auto works very well on the new '24 Cayenne. Porsche is getting their software in good shape. (Finally!) It's night and day from what is in our 718s.

Finding a place in 718s for a phone is a challenge. As a Waze-dependant user, I figure out inelegant ways to circumvent the dilemma.

That's unfortunate. I imagine the police have radar detector detectors in Ontario as they do in Virginia. Are RDs legal in other Canadian provinces?

Legal in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan (3 Western Provinces)
