What Tom forgot to mention … that was in FL !!Tom wrote: Mon Jan 31, 2022 9:09 amWelcome to the friendly Porsche forum!! Super happy to have you aboard.Bayou944 wrote: Mon Jan 31, 2022 7:59 am Hello all!
Found my way here from a facebook post showing off a nice 944 dash replacement and love the forum and layout!
Name - Kevin Brantley
Location - Monroe, Louisiana (US)
My "Molly" is an '87 944 N/A and she's my first Porsche. I'm in North Louisiana and found her fairly local in Vicksburg, Mississippi for a steal only needing a transaxle replacement. That being said, I'm currently on my second transaxle and it's starting to make the same knocking noises. My next will be a rebuilt instead of going cheaper and buying just used.
She's sitting on 18" Panamera wheels and still runs like a top! A/C will still freeze you out. Love this car!
I'm also in the middle of a snub-nose conversion while deleting the front and back bumper pads and hope to have here completed and back on the road for spring.
So glad I found this forum!
[mediahttps://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=4611306632 ... 1769969185][/media]Embarrassing personal fact, I had an '85 911 in the early '90's and commuted to work in a business suit in it. The A/C was so weak, it was awful in the summer. A friend drove us to lunch in his 944 one day, and the a/c made the car feel like a meat locker in the middle of summer. There were lots of reasons I got a 944 (hot laps in the passenger seat at Laguna Seca with a factory driver chief among them) but I'd be lying if I didn't admit the a/c and those massive vents were a pretty bit draw back in the days of business suits and daily commutes....

Hi folks,I also saw the post about a 944 dash repair so I decided to join.
I've got a 1987 944S with VEMS ECU that I'm picking up an S2 engine for this weekend. I'll be a couple of weeks rebuilding the engine before I install it,I'm hoping to have it on the Dyno by the start of March.

Hi everyone. I heard about this forum from Alex on Taycanforum.com. I saw the mamba green sport chrono bezel that Tom made for him (I will be reaching out soon to order one too in mamba green). I have owned about 10 Porsches starting with a Cayman S and then Cayennes, Boxster S, Macan S, Panamera Turbo, and a Taycan 4S. I currently have the 981 Boxster S and the Taycan and some non P cars.

Welcome to Carpokes! It’s great to see Taycan owners joining. Please post a photo of your car before and after installing the bezel cover. Also, we are a relatively new forum so please spread the word. The faster Carpokes grows, the more content that will be available that will get even more new members, etc..wem wrote: Thu Feb 03, 2022 3:50 pm Hi everyone. I’m new to the Porsche world. I took delivery of my Cayman GTS 4.0 in November. Between the car and Carpokes, I couldn’t be happier in the Porsche world.
Thanks for joining!

The Cayman GTS 4.0 must be a blast. What a great introduction to the Porsche world. It looks like I need some more postings before I can DM Tom for the bezel information. In the meantime here are some pics of my 2020 Taycan 4S. It was the first one delivered in the US. One of the cheapest mods I did was the steering wheel stripe. The Mamba Green bezel will finish off the interior nicely.

@wem beautiful color. The bezel cover will knock your interior out of the park! How did you do the center steering wheel stripe? It looks OEM. Maybe start a DIY thread for the stripe? I’d love to add a stripe to my leather steering wheel in Chalk (color of my stitching and seat belts).wem wrote: Thu Feb 03, 2022 4:29 pm The Cayman GTS 4.0 must be a blast. Welcome to the community. Where/how did you accomplish the steering wheel stripe? It appears to be a perfect match to the Mamba Green. Adds a very nice touch and looks oem.wem wrote: Thu Feb 03, 2022 4:29 pm The Cayman GTS 4.0 must be a blast. What a great introduction to the Porsche world.
