I may have been wrong about that. I recently had a 4rs customer order a normal 718-style harness for his GT4RS, and he insisted that his RS has the 718/991 style exhaust controllers/connectors, and not the 992 style. If that's true, and the Arkapovic exhaust retains the factory PSE system, then the Track Nanny will work. I just haven't been able to verify the GT4RS in person yet....

Will these work with other aftermarket valved mufflers like Valvtronics or Varex? Looking to find a Laguna solution for my S54 swapped E36.

I don't know how your system is set up, so can't say for sure. Others have adapted it to a number of different cars, however. In order to adapt it, your system has to be compatible, and you need basic wiring skills on par with installing a new stereo. The Track Nanny is a very simple device from an interface perspective. It does exactly one thing: it sends either 12 volts or Ground (user selectable) to its control wire whenever the car is inside a GPS quiet zone. There are two wires coming out of the Track Nanny, one black, one red. When outside of a quiet zone, whatever goes into the Track Nanny on the black wire comes out the red wire. It does this so the Track Nanny can pass-through the factory exhaust signal when not in a quiet zone. When inside a quiet zone, the black wire is disconnected inside the Track Nanny, and the Red wire goes to 12 volts or Ground. If your existing exhaust control works by switching a single signal like that, then you may be able to adapt the Track Nanny to work.Jonnybravo408 wrote: Thu Feb 15, 2024 7:22 pm Will these work with other aftermarket valved mufflers like Valvtronics or Varex? Welcome to Carpokes, and yes I am still making them! I'm running low on the assembled PCB boards, so have to decide whether to have another batch made, but for now I still have more to sell. Send me an email at admin@carpokes.com and we can get one going. I can make them for 981, 991, and 718 cars, but not the 992.Riri wrote: Tue Apr 23, 2024 12:59 pm Hi Tom - joined the forum just to see if you're still making these. I'm also in Silicon Valley and am very interested in picking one up!
Hey Tom! Also from the Bay Area here with a 992 GT3 RS arriving later this year.
Was super stoked to discover your Track Nanny but bummed when I read your comments about it not working for 992 without throwing codes due to electronic valves.
Do you know it throws codes for ALL exhausts including aftermarket valved options?
Also wondering how bad would it be to just use as-is with CEL codes during track days? And just turn to "stock" on Track Nanny for all other times on the street (assuming this works)?
May be just wishful thinking. If so then back brainstorming ideas to be able to get an aftermarket exhaust w/ Laguna turn down pipes hoping to pass 103dB

The whole circuit/signal to activate the valve is different, so just using it with CEL lights isn't an option. At one point the guy who originally came up with the arduino gps box was working on this, but not sure if he ever finished. When the warranty on my car expires, I might work on a 992 version, but that's a year away. I do think you'd be ok on a 103 day with turn away pipes... 92db days probably not...Hadouken wrote: Wed Aug 21, 2024 12:39 am Hey Tom! Thanks for the videos - super helpful! A few notes for fellow 718 GT4 folks:JetFuelOnly wrote: Tue Jul 06, 2021 8:09 am I've made this 3-video playlist to help everyone understand all that the Track Nanny does and how to install it in a GT4:
@9:35 - the hose with the green button that is being disconnected is a COOLANT hose, so be prepared. I was not, and coolant started spilling out so I immediately plugged it back in and was able to continue the install with the hose in place. FWIW - it had been ~7 hours since I parked the car before I started the install.
Removing the stock wire connector - the stock wire connector took considerable force to remove (even with the gray lock unlocked). I was initially stuck here until I plugged the Track Nanny plugs together (to themselves) and realized how much force it took to separate them - I'd suggest trying this to get a feel for the force required if your stock plug doesn't easily come out once you unlock it. I had to put channel locks on the stock connector to get it unplugged.
Fuse jumper - it wasn't clear to me that this install required both fuse blanks in the jumper to be filled with 15amp fuses (and dual 15s seems like a lot here), but my car, which initially had a 15amp fuse in the place Danial suggests you install the jumper, needed two 15 amp* fuses. With only one 15 amp fuse, it threw two low circuit codes that I thought were a function of removing the 10 amp and 15 amp fuse (as Danial does in the video), but that wasn't the case. So, if your 718 GT4 is throwing P0598 and P0458 (and these will throw the Check Engine Light), re-check your jumper to make sure you have two 15 amp fuses installed and those fuses and the jumper are fully seated. Not sure if this is a limitation of the code reader I have, but both of these codes were "permanent" codes that I could not clear.
*It's possible a combination of the 15amp stock fuse plus a lesser rated fuse would work, but Tom supplies a 15amp with the Track Nanny, so dual 15s seems to be what's required (and that's what you have handy!).
Thanks all!
