This puts my venturi at an angle that doesn't work if i let the hose bends not be stressed. The line to the brake booster has me a little concerned too. Does this look right?
Time to get the intake back on and see where things really are.

One more thing before I put the intake on. Is this correct routing of the alternator wiring? It's hard to find pics or much information on the NA cars. Going under the idle valve feels wrong, but I'm not sure how else to do it.

More "new guy" questions :geek:
I bought the vac line kit from 944online and it's nice quality. Although...
No way is that booster line reaching if I connect the venturi. Straight to the manifold, it fits well. That venturi may end up deleted after all.

AOS line is squished between the ISV and manifold. This isn't even bolted down. I tried clocking the hose clamps and it helped a little. Is this normal??

Just trying to learn and get it right the first time.

P.S. I got the crank pulley off and I'm glad I replaced the oil pump gear.

Weekend update.
Intake, AOS, water pump, crank and balance shaft seals and all vacuum lines are replaced. Timing belt is done. The 3D printed tool worked GREAT!!
Balance Shaft and fuel lines tonight. If everthing wasn't so nasty I would have had it done already. Lots of cleaning, chasing threads, replacing beat up hardware ... etc. Should have her back on the road real soon :D

It runs and drives!! It runs so much better after the work. Pretty good hesitation if I throttle slow from an idle. If I stab it it revs clean. Also drops RPM below 500 RPM then recovers when I let off quick. I did check that the TPS switch was working. Maybe it still needs a tweak.

Took it for about 30 miles before the rain threatened. It still has no functional wipers, so it was time to get home. No leaks, funny smells or clunks! It really feels good.

I tried to get the hatch to work last night, but it's way out of alignment. So that's fun. Shifter is like a row boat. All new shifter and linkage on the way from only944. One torn CV boot, several interior peices are trashed. Odometer doesn't work ... etc.
I'm taking her to work tomorrow for a further shake out :)

Possibilities to consider with that rpm drop -

Throttle body could have a vacuum leak. Mine didn't but I resealed it anyways, was a fun little project and the kit is available on 944online I think.

Also wonder about your AFM, whether the wiper arm has worn a groove. This is one I haven't checked on mine but I've read it's a pretty common issue.

Doing some research last night and the AFM arm came up. I'll be looking into that tonight. Drove 38 miles to work this morning and aside from crap tires causing vibration no issue. Those get replaced today. A little highway, a little curvy TN roads. Suspension seems solid and handles great! Around 4k RPM there is a subtle fluctuation in power. Similar to letting off the throttle just a hair and back again. Barely noticeable, but it's something that also may point to the AFM arm. Report to follow.
I planned to reseal the TB but the plate screws are stripped out. So I called it good enough, for now. It does have a new o-ring for the manifold seal.

Our testing guide below might help. Unlike most of the other guides out there, ours let's you bench test the AFM without breaking open the AFM's seal. If the unit tests ok, no reason to break it open. :)

My car (1985.5) has the subtle drop in power like you mentioned. It happens between 3700-3900rpms consistently. I did move my AFM wiper arm at one point but that didn't make a difference. So I'll be curious if you come up with a remedy for yours.

I didn't get to work on it last night. New O2 sensor showed up since my old one tested bad. There was no voltage change with a rich or lean condition going through the procedure from Clark's. 0.485V steady on the DMM so I connected the trusty ol Simpson analog to look for quick oscillations. Nothing. No wonder it was unhooked.
Strangely enough, driving the car home from work last night and being a little more aggressive, it didn't seem to show the power dip as much. Maybe things are working themselves out. I did get the impression the car has mostly sat for 10ish years.
