This is the 3M product we discussed last year for emblem replacement and other. Tom, as I recall, you were going to give it a try on something other than bezels which were not part of that discussion. However, it it might be perfect for them.

I might be a little confused, but I got really excited when I found this video:
We just purchased a 2025 718 Cayman and I find the windshield reflection of the glare from the chrome sports chrono bezel to be very distracting. My goal would be a black cover like we see here, not a flashy color.
I guess I'm a little sad to read in this thread that the project stalled? It looks great in the video!
Is there a version available, or would you be willing to share the files from as far as you got @Tom ?

I kind of forgot about that version -- it was be best of the many many versions I tried, but ultimately it wasn't as robust as I wanted to make it an official product. Once you start charging for things, people tend to expect a perfectly polished product, and I was worried that this one would not be well received by too many people. I'll see if I can find the file though. I also did this video for people who want to remove the factory bezel and just paint it...

Thank you!
My son works with 3D printing a lot and I’m optimistic that file would be a great starting point.
That disassembly video is very helpful, but I would prefer a less drastic solution.

Looking around, I do find some options on eBay which all seem to be aluminum covers. Black, red and blue are the color options I see.
But I would still prefer to do some experiments printing my own.
@Tom do you have any .stl files you would share that at least have reasonably good dimensions for the bezel?

I have several variations of these from when we were experimenting with different sizes so if someone is interested message me. I no longer have my 718 Spyder and they will not work on my 992 TTS Cab.

I'll see what I can find in terms of the clip on style....

I will look to see what I have. If you don't mind using glue or tape, I'm sure one of the ones I made would work.Robertsmania wrote: Wed Jul 16, 2025 5:15 pm Looking around, I do find some options on eBay which all seem to be aluminum covers. Black, red and blue are the color options I see.

I think you may be correct, Tom. Since I no longer have my Spyder I cannot try them out though.Tom wrote: Wed Jul 16, 2025 9:23 pmBob, if memory serves, I sent you replica bezels you could on;y install after removing the factory bezel, right? A few years ago I purchased several of the eBay aluminum bezel options. They were all bulky and looked cartoonish.
