Michael,
My wife does not complain much, but then she does not get in the Cayman GTS very often. Her Macan S may help her get over that issue since she loves it and has become a Porschephile due to that. Hmmmm............time to give momma the Turbo S and get another Cayman, ha. Seriously, welcome and take some pictures of your sleeper Cayenne as I am sure you will have fun when some Mustang or Camaro driver pulls up and can't figure how they got smoked by you potent German SUV.

New Member checking in......acquired my 997.1 about 6 weeks ago, it was a "family" car in that I was looking at Boxsters, Caymans, F-Types etc. and my father (who is still with us and is 79) asked if I wanted to consider taking over the 997.1 he has had for the past 14+ years as he is only putting on 300-400 miles per year. Long story short, it was an easy decision and in the past couple months it has undergone a major service (new shocks/struts on all corners, belts, tensioners, all fluids, brake flush, wheels trued, new PS4s on all corners, etc.). I have put ~850 miles on it so far and love it......

glad I found this forum. had been away from the Porsche world for a while, just rejoined with a 2001 996 CAB. in full disclosure just rejoined Rennlist and PCA. found out about this forum from Panorama.

have an 87 924S project car I still hope to resurrect. first Porsche an 85 911 targa. got into DE track and serious wrenching, and went through a number of 911, 928, 944 (built a modified 951 track car from a rolling chassis and boxes of part). finally got too old for the track, now 74. sold all those cars/projects except for the 924S because it is worth nothing other than nostalgia.

after track now fly small planes, ultralights and LSA. the ultralight is like riding a motorcycle in the air. rode motorcycles all my life until selling the last a few years ago.

my wife of 46 years was concerned when I started flying. I truly think it is less risky than DE and motorcycles. but life has risk. just learn and don't do anything stupid. have a T-shirt with Willie Nelson on it that says 'don't mess with old people we didn't live this long by being stupid'.

been retired for several years, almost 50 years in IT network engineering.

@Quicksliver

Great backstory, great user name, great sentiments. It's superb that you continue to embrace new ventures - Willie Nelson is correct - the fun can and must be done! Wisely. More or less. :angel:

(And Willie is good! I'm a fan of his Sirius/XM channel, Willie's Roadhouse among others. Quicksilver.. hmmm... Quicksilver Messenger Service came to mind instantly for me. :) )

Anyway, welcome to Carpokes!

thanks for the link about posting pics. need to update my profile.

quicksliver is a brand of ultralight planes. mine is a single seat. also fly small Light Sport planes, and the FAA has just modified that removing the weight restriction. soon I can fly a cessna.

I play guitar and love willie. when watching some of his videos I noticed he plays a nylon string classical guitar, think he calls it trigger. I do too but only finger pic classical music on it. and do not intend to wear a hole in the front of my wonderful Martin.

Nice!

"Trigger" is indeed the name of Nelson's ancient (50+ year-old) Martin nylon string guitar, extremely worn, but still his favorite.

Pic posting is a breeze on Carpokes, so post away. The link P_Coastal provided above of Tom's photo posting guide will do the trick.
