Nice background story!
As far as some here, patina probably describes several of us well.

Great to have you here! Welcome to Carpokes!82_280 wrote: Fri Oct 31, 2025 8:06 am Hi all,
First post here, I've had 944's for a few years now, starting with an 87 na, 87 2.7l swap na, and now an 86 turbo. Currently going through cam housing seals and would like to compare the 3d printable timing belt tensioner against tensioning by hand. Attached is the turbo in question. It's been a running project since I bought it two years ago, and is now at a place where it can be driven semi-daily. Still chasing some charging issues, a couple vacuum leaks from the aos, transaxle leaks, and an interior refresh.

Nice! Love my Porsche Service and Parts Depts and all the great people there.

I autocrossed it somewhat successfully on South Florida for a few years before selling it to get into a Formula Vee. Finally retired after fifty years of flying and built a Lotus 7 from a kit. Recently sold it to return to another 914. In this case it’s a 1973 2.0l. It’s a very nice driver that I’ve begun updating.
New MC and rubber brake lines (unbelievably the originals were still there!)
Relocating the fuel pump to the front this week. Next up are the front suspension bushings.
