In the past year, I've done some DIY / home made cosmetic mods. All are reversible back to stock should I decide to sell the car.

First, I replaced the black door pull straps with tie-dye straps. Liking that result, I acquired the tie-dye pattern and made my own decals, which I applied to the dashboard trim pieces. It's amusing and whimsical. It also makes the straps much easier for an unfamiliar passenger to find.

And I added some lupine flowers to complement my 'Natural Texas' license plate.

As for what's coming this year, it's going to be wild.

My Boxster S is going to become an Art Car for the massive international art car parade in Houston. I am not the artist in charge, and I have left all creative calls to her and her art students. All I know is that the car will be quilted, and there will be dolls.

Oh, yes. The car probably won't be drivable over 30 mph. Everything will be removable, secured by magnets and a few straps or Command adhesive/velcro strips on the plastic bumpers. It won't be a quilt laid over a car; rather it will be tailored and fitted, so doors, trunk, roof will all work. She made patterns of every panel on the car.

I also have a Bird bicycle rack that will support some sort of giant figure atop the car.

We'll see. Sometimes art goes bad, especially when it's kinetic/dynamic. Fingers crossed.

With most 'art cars,' the worse the better. :)
