That is what I thought
In the 80's (Grey market days) I bought a 77 Carerra Targa from Kremer Motors in Koln
I happened to be in the showroom the day the owner brought it in for trade, they had "built up" the motor for him but he wanted something faster,,,
That car was a beast...I Loved it till I found another 911. on another trip to Germany
Good luck with the car, Dark window or not you will LOVE it....

I have a 2017 991.2 Targa 4s that had tinted glass when I purchased it a few years ago. One thing to remember is that the rear glass is really large and will let in a ton of light so having it tinted from the factory is a good thing. As someone said previously it is really hard to get the tint on and to stay on, so having it in the glass from the factory is a wonderful thing. BTW what a beautiful car, congratulations.

No matter what rear glass comes, you’re going to love it, Jim. It’s an amazing machine. Exceeds every expectation.Pigs-In-Space wrote: Wed Dec 17, 2025 1:25 pm I LOVE IT!! I think the tint looks great with your black roof, dark green paint and black wheels. It's a very classy looking Targa!! I really think they did you a favor. Fingers crossed on what arrives on mine next month. I actually hope they make the same "mistake!"

Greetings everybody! My 2026 Targa 4S was delivered to Porsche of Nashville yesterday in balmy 19F weather. The good news is the wind was blowing. LOL!
The dealer very kindly pulled the Targa right in to their heated service bay to peel off the white protective paper and begin the PDI process. I've attached some photos below. There's definitely some form of tint on the rear window as you can see in the photos. I'm not sure if it's darker than in previous model years because I have no real basis for comparison. I'd be curious to hear thoughts on that.
The first modification made was the addition of Tom's Carpokes no-drill license plate holder. Blueline has that install process down to a science and his help yesterday was greatly appreciated!

@Pigs-In-Space
Such a beautiful Targa inside and out - and what a great build!! The PTS Black Olive is indeed special. Congrats Jim!
Same as you, I have no idea what comparisons might be regarding the rear glass tint level but it looks just about perfect to me - a bit of helpful tint but not too dark.
It was indeed a bit chilly outside yesterday afternoon with that biting wind cutting through anything in its path. However, still better than some of the temps we've had here occasionally this past week!

I missed this post until now. Awesome car and great color! Love the pics of it next to its grandpa! The targa really works on the 992 -- gives the car a very special feel. When you get it home and the weather cooperates, would love to see it in all its glory (including the interior!). Congrats!Pigs-In-Space wrote: Sun Feb 01, 2026 8:10 am Greetings everybody!
