Rustoleum Sunrise Red -- very close to Guards Red....

Tom, your attention to detail and commitment to quality is extremely admirable. My 65 year old eyes probably wouldn't have noticed any difference between the 5 and 10 micron versions. Blown up, your 5 micron version appears nothing short of OEM and will blend perfectly into our Racing Yellow interior....can't wait to install.

Thanks again for all your hard work!

Thanks. That said, the yellow is a different type of paint (base/clear) so I'm not expecting to get quite as glassy the red. I have not tried to optimize my process for it yet, so stay tuned. With the bezels, racing yellow is by far the most difficult color -- even more so than white for some reason. However! Yesterday I found a Rustoleum yellow can that should dry to a glass finish like the red. So we shall see. I did some test pieces on the same plastic and, while not absolutely identical to the Racing Yellow I had mixed, it's remarkably close. Without color-matching to a specific car, both are probably as close as the other to any given car. Left is Racing Yellow I had mixed; right is Rustoleum JD Yellow....

Thanks, I certainly trust your judgement. The shade difference probably could not be detected if our interior only had the extended Racing Yellow Stitching on everything, but I'm afraid the Racing Yellow Belts and Gauge faces would tell the tale.

Thanks again for your diligence!
I'm not sure belts/thread/gauges can ever be a perfect match since the texture is so much different. But for sure if you have the interior trim panels painted in exterior paint color (instead of leather, aluminum, etc.), then that's when you really need the match to be spot on. Is your car Racing Yellow (exterior paint)? If so, I may send you the samples and covers painted in both yellows, so you can help judge if one is noticeably closer than the other. The Rustoleum will be virtually the same in every can, but the code-matched paint does vary a little bit from can to can -- not much, but a little anyway....

Yes, absolutely. Get other like-minded Porsche fans to join Carpokes. :) That is by far and away the best way repay me for the effort. And when they join, be sure to let me know so I can put a gold star next to your name. Good things happen for Carpokeans with gold stars. 8-) :shh:

The car's exterior is Gentian Blue with Racing Yellow Calipers (they're being painted as we speak). Interior Graphite Blue with no painted trim (brushed aluminum). The only Racing Yellow items in the interior are the seat belts, gauge faces, and extended leather stitching (everywhere).

Thanks!

The yellow knob cover should look great. As mentioned, the seat belts, stitching and gauges are all different materials so the yellow just needs to work with all the other yellow. It will look OEM (if Porsche offered it). The only steering wheels that have colored drive mode dials are part of a aftermarket custom steering wheel package for about $2500.
2022 Cayman GTS 4.0
2019 Audi RS3 (sold)
2016 VW Golf R (sold)
2013 Audi S4 (sold)

I'm sure you and Tom are correct, so I'm certain no one would know the very slight difference in hue. Thank you!

I’m continually amazed and frankly envious over your blend of artisan / technical competency.

Hi All, I just updated the list in the first post of this thread based on people who have asked for one in this thread. I've started sending these out, and will go pretty much in the order of post-count (hint, hint), although special colors may take a little longer than red and yellow.

If you have not yet sent me your shipping address, please PM that to me. You need 3 posts to PM, and I'd ask you to get there if you're not already. Small price to pay. ;) I've had people sending me addresses via multiple email accounts, FB messenger, PMs on other forums, etc., etc., and I just can't keep track that way. :) In the same vein, if you don't see your name on the list but have asked for one elsewhere, please post your request in this thread.

These are free, but I welcome shipping reimbursement in the US, and do ask for reimbursement for shipping outside the US.

I’d love one of these if bordeaux red is possible. That said, I’m new to the scene and defer to all those who have come before.
