How have you got on with the install? As per my earlier post regarding the Carlinkit t-box - I had been considering buying one and finally did from Amazon at £190. I haven’t had much time recently with having covid and work being busy, but had a quick go with it this morning.

Connected after about 30 seconds and showed up on PCM. You can install a sim in the box or tether to your phone. I tethered and all was fine. Also set phone to connect to the box via Bluetooth and that worked fine and I was able to make a call from my contacts with sound coming over the car speakers.

Opened Waze and maps - all good

So far, that’s all I’ve done, not tried “ok Google” or anything else (and all done while sat in the garage).

I'm stuck until I get a GPS antenna installed. I thought all cars with carplay had the antenna but it's not so. I ordered one and after I get it installed I'll continue with downloading the files to my PCM.

Success! We got back together today and downloaded new files on my SD cards, remotely connected my car to his PIWIS so the cluster was enabled, and I downloaded the Nav and Map functions and the map files on my PCM and everything is up and running just like factory. I'm like a kid at Christmas after so many hours trying without success. If you have any tech sense at all this thing is a breeze to install on your PCM.

The trim is removed because I thought I was going to have to add a gps antenna but my car already had one, so I've put them back and everything is great now.

Yep, Phil is the GUY! I hesitated to use his name without permission but I invited him to Carpokes and he is now famous. It really is a cool mod, and very satisfying once installed.

And I failed to mention he doesn't charge for his services.

I see I also forgot that it turned out I did have the GPS antenna after all. Not sure why it didn't show as installed but it was there so it was a bit easier than would have otherwise been.

Yes it's a little bit of mystery for the GPS antenna. I have seen a couple 2017-18 Cayman with the GPS antenna installed and some without. All the MY2021 and 2022 GTS GT4 that I have worked on had the GPS antenna. It either comes with Carplay or Porsche Connect depending on your build.

For those interested, here is the link to download and flash your PCM to enable NAV, Carplay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi Hotspot, AUX, Track Precision App etc...
https://github.com/harman-f/MHI2_US_POG ... MU1476-AIO
Please check your version of PCM and see if it's supported first.
NAV requires a GPS antenna
MAP in cluster TFT display requires an LVDS cable and PIWIS coding.

Last, make sure that you are using a battery charger connected to your car before attempting this.
