Will the DSC controller add to performance for aggressive street driving? I've been considering adding one to my 2020 GT4 for about 6 months and still not sure it's worth it. Please let me know if you have added a DSC controller and thought it made a significant difference with spirited driving.

If he was close I would swap them for him, and we would all find out. Short of that, borrowing a DSC from another is the best course of action I would think.

I have also not heard of anyone re-flashing the factory controller. On the 992 they do a version of that but not sure it translates to the 718.

Yes it makes a difference. Spirited driving and rough roads, they improved the damping strategy over the factory controller.

He's not afraid to do the work, per se, but is worried if he swaps the boxes, then both cars might burst into flames on start up, start spewing lava, attract locust and frogs, etc. If there were a DCS box nearby, he might be willing to try that in the GT4RS though... Although his real hope is to replicate the feel of the Spyder by just reprogramming the factory box.

Maybe hit up @718socal and see if he is aware of anyone working on re-flashing the factory box.

There is no plan for us to work on this. I would still recommend the DSC controller. I had it on my car and it made the ride better. They haven’t released one for the 992. That’s why we’re flashing the S/T suspension on GT3 / Touring. A few 992 GT3 owners bought a second Chassis Control module and kept their stock one to swap. Just like the DSC controller.

I had the same goals for my 718 Spyder (regular, not RS). Read about the DSC Sport controller, but nearly all of the feedback was for the track/performance side of things. Decided to go for it anyway.

The difference was immediately noticeable. Normal street driving is so much more comfortable now. Drove it at an autocross this past weekend, and our site has very bumpy pavement. Even in the sport suspension mode, it handled everything extremely well. It really is the best of both worlds, absolutely zero regrets.

Great feedback - thanks!

@Tom, @Crazy Eddie will not be able to get his 4RS to feel like the SRS by changing the control box, because the Spyder uses less stiff springs.

I think the first thing to try, is to buy the SRS suspension (or maybe just the springs) and put it on the 4RS. I also bet the control boxes are identical (or maybe the SRS uses the older GT4 box).
