The gauge rings are 3D-printed in a low-sheen ASA plastic. Once I finish this kit, I still plan to work on a more Singer-like gauge set, which would need metal to look the part. Machining them is a possibility, but I fear the price would get out of hand fast. Looking at the possibility of metal plating the plastic. As for the lights, the LED's in the pictures are 6000k, so very white, and set to max brightness. I have to say in person it looks great to my eyes. I can also use 3000k LED's for a more vintage feel -- will try to get some pictures of that too. Although the factory dimmer 'works' with the LEDs, it does not offer a very big range of adjustment, so I added a hidden trim pot that allows you set the base level of brightness wherever you want, which can then be turned up or down with the factory dimmer.

I will be your first customer for the metal rings!

I don’t believe they protrude far enough out to allow a fitted lens to then clear the gauge needles… I could be wrong, but it doesn’t look like they do.

A simpler option would be to get a chrome paint pen and just cover the ones supplied.
